David Flitcroft
David John Flitcroft (born 14 January 1974) is an English professional football manager and former player who is the director of football at club Port Vale. His older brother is the former Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City player Garry Flitcroft. A midfielder, Flitcroft began his career at Preston North End, where he turned professional in May 1992. He enjoyed a brief loan spell at Lincoln City but failed to establish himself in the first-team at Preston and was allowed to join Chester City in December 1993. Chester would achieve promotion out of the Third Division at the end of the 1993–94 season, though were relegated out of the Second Division the following season. In all he played 190 league and cup games before joining Rochdale on a free transfer in July 1999. He spent four seasons at Spotland, playing 188 league and cup matches and being named as Player of the Year, before joining Macclesfield Town in July 2003. Garry Flitcroft
Garry William Flitcroft (born 6 November 1972) is an English football manager and former professional player who played as a midfielder. Between 1991 and 2006, Flitcroft spent four seasons in the Premier League with Manchester City, winning the club's Player of the Year award in only his second year in senior football. He joined Blackburn Rovers in 1996, with whom he spent ten years, of which eight were in the Premier League, and won the 2001–02 Football League Cup. He also played briefly in the Football League, beginning his career on loan to Bury and ending it with Sheffield United. He was capped 10 times by England U21, scoring three goals. In 2009 he became manager of Leigh Genesis and the following year took over as manager of Chorley, where he won two promotions in five years, taking the team up to the Conference North. Henry Flitcroft
Henry Flitcroft (30 August 1697 – 25 February 1769) was a major English architect in the second generation of Palladianism. He came from a simple background: his father was a labourer in the gardens at Hampton Court and he began as a joiner by trade. Working as a carpenter at Burlington House, he fell from a scaffold and broke his leg. While he was recuperating, the young Lord Burlington noticed his talent with the pencil, and by 1720 Flitcroft was Burlington's draughtsman and general architectural assistant, surveying at Westminster School for Burlington's dormitory, and superintending at the site at Tottenham House. Working life in the inner circle that was driving the new Palladian architecture was an education for Flitcroft. Flitcroft redrew for publication the drawings for ''The Designs of Mr. Inigo Jones,'' published by William Kent in 1727, under Burlington's patronage and supervision. John Flitcroft
The Revered John Flitcroft (1914–1994) was a British cleric, academic and historian. Career Flitcroft was educated at the University of Manchester, studying for his Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees in 1936 and 1937 respectively. He then studied at Bishops' College, Cheshunt before being ordained as a deacon in 1938 and later ordained as a priest in 1939. He was appointed to numerous livings during the war years and afterwards, before being appointed as lecturer in theology at the University of Manchester in 1954, which post he held until 1966. At the university he was also Warden of Hulme Hall, a Church of England hall of residence. During this time, he was also an active Member of the Chetham Society, serving as Council Member from 1945 until 1971, and as Secretary from 1951 to 1964. He was appointed as an Honorary Curate of St Ann's Church, Manchester in 1954 and was later the Vicar of St Cuthbert's Church, Lytham from 1966 to 1979. He retired ... Maurice Flitcroft
Maurice Gerald Flitcroft (23 November 1929 – 24 March 2007) was a British golfer. Flitcroft, who had never attempted a round of golf in his life, received widespread attention after shooting a score of 121 in the qualifying competition for the 1976 Open Championshipthe worst score recorded at the Open Championship by a self-professed "professional golfer". Subsequently, he gained significant media coverage, being referred to as "the world's worst golfer". Early life Flitcroft was born in Manchester on 23 November 1929.
