Flint Mountain Football Club (formerly Halkyn & Flint Mountain F.C.) is a Welsh football team based in Flint, Flintshire. The team currently play in the Cymru North, which is at the second tier of the Welsh football league system. History The club was formed in 2009 as ''Flint Mountain FC'' and joined the North East Wales League. They played on a number of pitches in and around Flint before playing at Northop Hall Pavilion, home of Northop Hall Ladies team. The 2018–19 season was one of great success for the club as they claimed the North East Wales League title and the North East Wales FA Horace Wynne Cup, as part of a quadruple-winning season. They moved into the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) football system the following season as on the back of their promotion as champions. Cae-y-Castell
Cae-y-Castell (currently known as the Essity Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Flint, Flintshire, Flint, Flintshire, Wales. Located on the banks of the Dee Estuary close to Flint Castle, it is the home ground of Flint Town United F.C., Flint Town United and is also used by Flint Rugby Club. History The stadium was opened in 1993 after Flint moved from their previous Holywell Road ground. In 2006–07, Connah's Quay Nomads F.C., Connah's Quay Nomads were tenants at the ground. In 2019, the stadium was renamed The Essity Stadium as part of a deal with the club's main sponsors. In 2022, the club announced that an artificial pitch would be installed at the stadium. Gary Roberts (footballer, Born 1987)
Gary Steven Roberts (born 2 February 1987) is an English footballer who plays for Flint Mountain as a deep-lying playmaker, he has been praised for his vision and ball distribution skills. However off the field he has struggled to control drink and gambling problems. He started his career with Crewe Alexandra in 2003, and made 133 league and cup appearances over the next five years. In 2008, he had a loan spell at Yeovil Town, before he joined the club permanently the following year. He signed with Rotherham United in November 2009, having impressed on trial, before he was released in summer 2010. Crewe, Yeovil and Rotherham all cited disciplinary problems as their reason for letting him go. He joined Port Vale in July 2010, having been handed a 'last chance' by manager Micky Adams. John Danby (footballer)
John Danby (born 20 September 1983) is an English footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Flint Mountain. Danby played for much of his career at Chester City, and the subsequent phoenix club Chester, although he has also played for Kidderminster Harriers, Eastwood Town, Bradford Park Avenue and Connah's Quay Nomads. Career Born in Stoke, Danby spent five seasons with Kidderminster Harriers before signing for Chester City in 2006. Danby's time with Kidderminster saw them relegated out of The Football League in 2004–05 but he established himself as a promising young goalkeeper. He went on to enjoy a successful 2006–07 season with Chester and was named the club's player of the season. The Ardal Leagues are a football league in Wales. The word "ardal" translates as "district" in English, with Wales split into four regions at this level. They have clubs with amateur/semi-professional status and sit at the third level of the Welsh football league system.
