The Flint Arrows was the primary name of the minor league baseball team in Flint, Michigan from 1940–1941 and 1948–1951. Flint was a member of the Michigan State League (1940–1941) and Central League (1948–1950), playing their home games at Atwood Stadium. Flint was an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers (1948–1950) and Cleveland Indians (1940–1941). History The Flint 1940-1951 teams were immediately preceded by the Flint Vehicles, who played in the Michigan State League and other minor leagues from 1906 to 1926. The Flint Gems began play as members of the 1940 Class C level Michigan State League as an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Flint City Bucks is an American soccer team based in Flint, Michigan, United States. Founded in 1995, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The club was founded in 1995 as the Mid-Michigan Bucks, playing in Saginaw, and began playing in 1996. In 2004, the club changed its name to the Michigan Bucks following a move to Plymouth. In 2008, they moved to Pontiac. In 2019, they moved to Flint and changed their name to the current Flint City Bucks. Starting in 2019, they began playing their home matches at Atwood Stadium. Eugene Richard Woodling (August 16, 1922 – June 2, 2001) was an American professional baseball player, coach and scout. He played in Major League Baseball as an outfielder between and , most prominently as a member of the New York Yankees dynasty that won five consecutive World Series championships between 1949 to 1953. Woodling was a left-handed batter known as a line drive hitter who hit over .300 five times during his 17-year career and, had a .318 batting average during his five World Series appearances. John Melvin "Bubba" Phillips (February 24, 1928 – June 22, 1993) was an American Major League Baseball (MLB) third baseman from Macon, Mississippi. Richard Burton Marlowe (June 27, 1929 – December 30, 1968) was an American professional baseball pitcher who appeared in 98 games in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox from 1951 to 1956. Born in Hickory, North Carolina, he threw and batted right-handed and was listed as tall and . He attended Davidson College. Davidson's professional career lasted from 1948 through 1957. In 1952, Marlowe, while pitching for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, became the second player in International League history to throw a perfect game. Cliff Mapes
Clifford Franklin Mapes (March 13, 1922 – December 5, 1996) was a professional baseball player. He played five seasons of Major League Baseball as an outfielder for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and Detroit Tigers. Professional career Mapes, who was listed with a height of , and a weight of , was originally signed as an amateur free agent by the Cleveland Indians prior to the season. He never played for the Indians, and was later drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1946 Rule 5 draft. After a season in the minors, Mapes was recalled to the Major League level, where he saw limited time as a backup to an outfield that contained Joe DiMaggio, Tommy Henrich, and Johnny Lindell.
