Fleas And Lice
Fleas and Lice are a Dutch crust punk band from Groningen, Netherlands. Three of the members were originally part of Mushroom Attack, also from the Netherlands. Their records have been released by Skuld Releases in Europe, and Profane Existence Records and Rodent Popsicle Records in the United States. Since 1993, they have toured multiple times throughout Europe and North America. Crust Punk
Crust punk (also known as crust or stenchcore) is a form of music influenced by English punk rock and extreme metal. The style, which evolved in the early 1980s in England, often has songs with dark and pessimistic lyrics that linger on political and social ills. The term "crust" was coined by Hellbastard on their 1986 ''Ripper Crust'' demo.Glasper 2009, 185 Crust is partly defined by its " bassy" and "dirty" sound. It is often played at a fast tempo with occasional slow sections. Vocals are usually raspy screams, but can also be grunted/growled. Crust punk takes cues from the anarcho-punk of Crass and Discharge and the heavy metal of bands like Venom, Trouble, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Black Sabbath and Motörhead. While the term was first associated with Hellbastard, Amebix have been described as the originators of the style, along with Discharge and Antisect. Rodent Popsicle is an American record label, founded by Bill Damon, singer of the band Toxic Narcotic, with the help of his bandmates. Following the DIY ethic, the purpose of the label is not to pursue profits from the releases but to help bands get heard. The label has released albums by A Global Threat, Fleas and Lice,Thumbs Up!, Darkbuster, Toxic Narcotic, Mouth Sewn Shut, The Profit$, Retching Red, The Restarts, Naked Aggression, Iskra, and The Varukers. Hiatus (band)
Hiatus was a Belgian hardcore punk band from Liege, Belgium, formed in 1989, that broke up in 1996. History Hiatus formed in May 1989, at this time the line-up was Phill, Ben, Raf and Phil. They played in a Doom/ Discharge/ E.N.T. style and recorded a rehearsal demo called "The Frightening Men Story". In May 1990, they put out their second rehearsal demo called "In My Mind" and soon after Wills joined them on bass. The band went into the studio and recorded a set of songs which were released on two 7-inches and various compilations. Their first 7-inch "I don't scare easily but..." was released on the French label Urban Alert Records and had a second pressing on Nabate/Mother Peace Records. A split 7-inch with RMR from Japan called "Severe Existence" was Hiatus' second 7-inch and was released on the Japanese label MCR Co. The Restarts
The Restarts are an English street punk band based in London. The Restarts were formed in 1995 in London with Darragh O'Neill on drums, Kieran Plunkett from Armed and Hammered on bass guitar, and Mik Useless on the guitar. They played many shows in the UK as a trio until Useless left, at which point Alan Campbell joined the band. With Campbell on guitar, they recorded their album ''System Error'' LP, but due to his commitments to the UK Subs he had to leave. In April 2003 Robin Licker from the Short Bus Window Lickers joined the Restarts as their new guitarist. They toured extensively in Europe and US. They have played with bands like Born/Dead, Limp Wrist, The Accüsed, Strychnine, Dr. Know and Monster Squad.
