Flavel & Neto are a singing duo based in France specializing in Latin-based dance music, but greatly influenced by Angolan kizomba music. They are signed to Five Music label and are mostly famous with their singles " Eu quero tchu, eu quero tcha" and " Pedida perfeita (Tararatata)", the latter featuring Anna Torres. Career Flavel (born c. 1993) is a Brazilian singer residing in France. Passionate about music and soccer, he developed his singing skills early inspired by zouk, R'n'B and very notably by kizomba, a genre of music originating in Angola and very popular with French Cape Verdean community. Neto Furtado (born c. 1992) coming from an immigrant family to France originating from Cape Verde was a childhood friend of Flavel. Andrew Flavel (born 30 December 1971) is an Australian wheelchair basketball player. He was born in Ballarat, Victoria. He was part of the silver medal-winning Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team at the 2004 Athens Paralympics. Anton Flavel
Anton James Flavel, OAM (born 3 May 1969) is an Australian athlete with an intellectual disability. He was born in the Western Australian town of Narrogin. In his disability class he held a world record for the javelin and an Australian record in the shot put and high jump. Competing at the 1st World Games for Athletes with an Intellectual Disability in Härnösand, Sweden, he won two gold medals in the Men's Javelin and the Men's Discus, and a bronze medal in the Men's Long Jump. At the 1992 Paralympic Games for Persons with mental handicap in Madrid, Spain, which were held immediately after the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics, he won a gold medal in the men's javelin, for which he received a Medal of the Order of Australia. He also won bronze medals in the Men's High Jump and Men's Discus. He was coached in Perth, Western Australia by Hilda Collier. George Flavel
Captain George Edward Flavel (; November 17, 1823 — July 3, 1893) was an Irish American maritime pilot and entrepreneur. Born in 1823 to Irish parents, Flavel relocated to the West coast of the United States in 1849, working as a tugboat operator between Sacramento and San Francisco, California. In 1851, he settled in the northern coastal port city of Astoria, Oregon, where he became one of the first licensed bar pilots in the state. Flavel would go on to amass a fortune with a business managing pilot boats on the Columbia River, making him a prominent local figure, and one of the first millionaires in Oregon. In addition to bar piloting, he was involved in several other entrepreneurial endeavors, including operating a wharf in Astoria, and managing a coal business from Australia. The Captain George Flavel House Museum () known also as Capt. George Flavel House and Carriage House or the Flavel Mansion, is now a house museum in Astoria, Oregon, United States. It was built in 1885 in the Queen Anne architectural style, by George Flavel, a Columbia River bar pilot who was one of the area's first millionaires. History The house was originally constructed in 1885 by George Flavel, a maritime pilot and entrepreneur who amassed a fortune in his business over the course of thirty years. The house, which spans a whole city block, features Queen Anne architecture. After Flavel's death in 1893, his wife, Mary Christina, lived in the house with the couple's daughters, Nellie and Katie, until her death in 1922. John Flavel (c. 1627–1691) was an English Puritan Presbyterian minister and author. Life Flavel, the eldest son of the Rev. Richard Flavel, described as 'a painful and eminent minister,' who was incumbent successively of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, Hasler and Willersey, Gloucestershire (from which last living he was ejected in 1662), was born in or about 1627 at Bromsgrove. Having received his early education at the schools of the neighbourhood, he entered University College, Oxford, at an early age, and gained a good reputation for talent and diligence. John Flavel (1596–1617) was an English logician. Life Flavel was born in 1596 at Bishop's Lydeard, Somerset, England, where his father was a clergyman. He matriculated on 25 January 1611 at Trinity College, Oxford, and developed a turn for logical disputation. In 1613 he was made one of the first scholars of Wadham College. He graduated B.A. on 28 June 1614, and lectured on logic. Proceeding M.A. on 23 June 1617, he was in the same year chosen professor of grammar. He had skill in Greek and Latin verse. He died on 10 November 1617, and was buried in Wadham College chapel. Works After Flavel's death, Alexander Huish of Wadham edited from his manuscript a logical treatise, with the title ''Tractatus de Demonstratione Methodicus et Polemicus'', &c., Oxford, 1619.
