Club Social y Deportivo Flandria is an Argentine Football Club based in the city of Jáuregui, Buenos Aires Province which was founded by Julio Steverlynck. Although many sports are practised at the club, The Canary is best known for its professional football team. The squad currently plays in Primera B Metropolitana, the regionalised third division of the Argentine football league system. History The club originated at the factory Algodonera Flandria (''Cotton Flanders''), located in Jauregui. In his factory, Don Julio Steverlynck created a lot of job opportunities for the European immigrants in the area. Those immigrants were the people that started to play football to spend their free time. They formed a team and played their first match against Jauregui Juniors. In 1940, a sports camp was opened and this place was used as a ground field to practice. Months later, they founded a team called Flandria, and started to participate at the Lujanense Soccer League. Heinrich Isaac
Heinrich Isaac (ca. 1450 – 26 March 1517) was a Netherlandish Renaissance composer of south Netherlandish origin. He wrote masses, motets, songs (in French, German and Italian), and instrumental music. A significant contemporary of Josquin des Prez, Isaac influenced the development of music in Germany. Several variants exist of his name: Ysaac, Ysaak, Henricus, Arrigo d'Ugo, and Arrigo il Tedesco among them. (''Tedesco'' means "Flemish" or "German" in Italian.) Early life Little is known about Isaac's early life (or indeed what he called himself), but it is probable that he was born in Flanders, probably in Brabant. Flandria was a Belgian professional cycling team that existed from 1957 to 1979. It was sponsored by Flandria a bicycle manufacturer located in West Flanders that also manufactures mopeds, lawnmowers, and motorbikes. History Started with a team built around Joseph Planckaert, and Rik Van Looy. Youngsters Eddy Merckx, Peter Post, Herman Van Springel, and Walter Godefroot all joined at early stages of their career, although some such as Merckx left soon after to become leader of his own team. After Van Looy's retirement, Belgian Freddy Maertens took over the leadership mantle, famous for his rivalry with Eddy Merckx. Irishman Sean Kelly also started his professional career with Flandria, as Maertens' super-domestique.
