Flaming Fire
Flaming Fire is an American arts collective and experimental rock band from Brooklyn, New York, United States, which formed in 2000.Proskocil, Niz (August 28, 2003). SXSW
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. There was no in-person event in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Austin, Texas; both years, there was a smaller online event instead. SXSW is run by the company SXSW, LLC, which organizes conferences, trade shows, festivals, and other events. In addition to SXSW, the company runs the conference SXSW Edu and the upcoming SXSW Sydney festival, and co-runs North by Northeast in Toronto. Leon Dewan
Leon Dewan is an American artist, inventor, and musician. He collaborates with Brian Dewan on Dewanatron, an electronic music instrument project. The son of an inventor, Dewan received a degree in physics from Yale University in 1989. His musical career draws on this background in physics, and heavily incorporates electronic and experimental instruments. Dewan resides in New Rochelle, in Westchester County, New York. Music Leon Dewan has performed and recorded music with several bands spanning over a decade. Joe McGinty
Joe McGinty is an American composer, keyboardist and arranger who was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. McGinty is most widely known for his five years as the keyboardist for The Psychedelic Furs (after a brief stint with Robert Hazard in Philadelphia). He is also the founder of the popular Loser's Lounge tribute series. He opened a New York City piano bar, Sid Gold's Request Room, with Beauty Bar owner Paul Devitt. He has an original project with singer Andrea Diaz, "The Duchess And The Fox." Career McGinty got his start playing keyboards with his high school friends in the South Jersey area. In 1983, he was invited to join the showband '"Franco And Mary Jane". For two years McGinty travelled across the country playing casino lounges, Sheratons and Marriotts, playing 4 or 5 sets a night, 6 nights a week. Helios Creed
Barry Johnson (born on November 3, 1953), known professionally as Helios Creed, is an American guitarist, singer and bandleader. He first came to prominence in the mid-1970s with the San Francisco band Chrome, who were considered an early influence on industrial rock. Chrome broke up in the mid-1980s when founding member Damon Edge moved to Paris. Helios then recruited some local hard rock musicians and launched a solo career. Early life Creed was born Barry Johnson in Long Beach, California, and moved to Hawaii when he was six. His brother, two years older, introduced him to psychedelic music. When he was 12, his parents bought him his first guitar, and he became a serious student of the instrument immediately. Creed has said that he invented his trademark sound while trying to replicate the sound he heard in his head while "listening to Black Sabbath on LSD on headphones when I was a teenager". Palomar (band)
Palomar is an indie rock band out of Brooklyn, New York. Profile The band originally formed in 1998. Rachel Warren is the only original member still in the band, though Rachel and Christina (almost original member) had been in the band Trixie Belden together before Palomar. Sarah and Dale have been in Palomar since making their third record. They have completed national U.S. tours every year since 2003, including a tour shared with nationally-renowned indie bands Mates of State, Spoon, Luna, etc. Their music has heard praise from various magazines including ''Pitchfork Media'' and ''The Austin Chronicle''. The blend of rock music and melodic female vocals create a simple and driving pop sound reminiscent of Rilo Kiley.
