''My Dog Shep'' is a 1946 American drama (genre), drama film directed by Ford Beebe. It was made by Golden Gate Productions and released through the newly-formed Screen Guild Productions. They had just made ''Flight to Nowhere''. Filming started August 15, 1946. Greg McClure was meant to be in the cast. Lanny Rees was borrowed from RKO. Plot Danny, an orphan, tries to find a home along with his dog, Shep. He goes to live with a mean Uncle Matt but loving Aunt Carrie. Cousin Arthur squeals on him that he secretly has been keeping a German Shepherd that he named Shep. Danny runs away with his dog. Rusty (film Series)
The Rusty film series comprises eight American films produced for young audiences between 1945 and 1949 by Columbia Pictures. Child actor Ted Donaldson starred as Danny Mitchell in the series, which relates the adventures of a German Shepherd dog named Rusty. The role of Rusty was played by Ace the Wonder Dog in the first feature, '' Adventures of Rusty'' (1945). A police dog named Rip took over the role for the second film, ''The Return of Rusty'' (1946). In the later films Rusty was played by Flame, a charismatic dog star who was featured in three separate series. The Rusty films were B-movies, primarily shown as the second half of a double bill. The basic boy-and-his-dog stories usually addressed social issues of the era, and provided civics lessons to its young audiences. Directors at Columbia usually broke in with the studio's "B" features. ''Miraculous Journey'' is a 1948 film about seven airplane passengers who find themselves stranded in an African jungle after their plane crashes. It was directed by Sam Newfield, under the pseudonym of Peter Stewart. The film stars Rory Calhoun and Virginia Grey. Plot A group of seven people - an actress, a blind girl, a financier, a gangster, an heiress, a hostess, and a pilot - survive an airplane crash to find themselves deserted in an African jungle. The group come across an old hermit who has been living on the island for a while. The hermit teaches them how to survive in the jungle, though the unrepentant gangster is eaten by a crocodile.
