Ivana Fišer
Ivana Fišer (born Fischer; June 13, 1905 – September 7, 1967) was known Croatian-Jewish conductor. Background Fišer was born in Zagreb on June 13, 1905 to a Jewish family of well-known Croatian architect Ignjat Fischer and his wife Helena ( née Egersrodfer). She attended elementary and music school in Zagreb. Fišer graduated from the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb under Fran Lhotka as the first female conductor in Croatia. Soon after she left for Salzburg where she was perfecting herself at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. From 1931 to 1934, Fišer worked as violinist at the Croatian Music Institute orchestra. As a conductor, Fišer debuted in 1933 while directing the comic opera Bastien und Bastienne with Zagreb philharmonic orchestra. From 1939 to 1941, she led the Zagreb Red Cross orchestra. Ladek C. "Lud" Fiser (October 26, 1908 – August 25, 1990) was an American football and baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kansas State University in 1945, compiling a record of 1–7. Fiser was also the head baseball coach at Kansas State in 1947 and 1948, tallying a mark of 25–16. Fiser was a native of Mahaska, Kansas, and a 1931 graduate of Kansas State University, where he was a two-year letterman on the football, baseball and track teams. Nelly Fišerová was a Czech chess master. She was Women's World Chess Championship participant (1937). She lived in Mladá Boleslav, where in Rudolf Charousek named chess club Nelly Fišerová became for one of the leading Czechoslovak chess female players. Egon Bondy, born Zbyněk Fišer (20 January 1930 in Prague – 9 April 2007 in Bratislava), was a Czech philosopher, writer, and poet, one of the leading personalities of the Prague underground. In the late 1940s, Bondy was active in a surrealistic group. From 1957 to 1961, he studied philosophy and psychology at Charles University in Prague. From the 1960s he was considered to be one of the main figures of the Prague underground, particularly once his texts were set to music by The Plastic People of the Universe in the 1970s. His non-conformism brought him into conflict with the totalitarian communist regime in Czechoslovakia. His works were circulated only as samizdat.
