Five Points Monument
The Five Points Monument is a large public monument in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Located in the Five Points district, the monument was designed by George Beasley and installed in 1996. History The monument was created during the leadup to the Centennial Olympic Games, hosted by Atlanta in 1996. George Beasley, who served as the coordinator for the sculpture program at Georgia State University, designed the monument, which is made primarily of bronze and steel. The monument was created at the studio at Georgia State and then moved to its current location via two flatbed trucks. According to Beasley, the monument experienced a rushed production in order to be in place in time for the 1996 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, with the monument installed one week before the event. The monument lies on a pedestrian island at the intersection of five streets, which gives the district of Five Points its name. Bronze

Flatbed Trucks
A flatbed truck (or flatbed lorry in British English) is a type of truck which can be either articulated or rigid. As the name suggests, its bodywork is just an entirely flat, level 'bed' with no sides or roof. This allows for quick and easy loading of goods, and consequently they are used to transport heavy loads that are not delicate or vulnerable to rain, and also for abnormal loads that require more space than is available on a closed body. Road trucks A flatbed has a solid bed, usually of wooden planks. There is no roof and no fixed sides. To retain the load there are often low sides which may be hinged down for loading, as a 'drop-side' truck. A 'stake truck' has no sides but has steel upright pillars, which may be removable, again used to retain the load. Loads are retained by being manually tied down with ropes. Woodruff Park
Woodruff Park, named for Robert W. Woodruff, is located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The park's are north of Edgewood Ave, between Peachtree Street NE and Park Place NE. The park includes a fountain, a performance pavilion, and several monuments. History The original between Peachtree Street, Edgewood Avenue, Pryor St. (now Park Place) and the Candler Building were purchased anonymously by Mr. Woodruff then donated to the city in 1971 and the first incarnation of the park, Central City Park, opened in 1973. It was later revealed that Robert W. Woodruff had donated the funds for the park and it was renamed in his honor in 1985. In 1995, during the lead-up to the Centennial Olympic Games, the International Peace Fountain was constructed in the park. Woodruff Park has been the site of many demonstrations and rallies. ''Atlanta from the Ashes'', more commonly known as ''The Phoenix'', is a bronze monument located in Atlanta, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States, symbolizing Atlanta's rise from the ashes of the Civil War to become a Global city, world city. WANF
WANF (channel 46) is a television station in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is the flagship property of locally based Gray Television and is co-owned with independent station WPCH-TV (channel 17) and low-power, Class A Telemundo affiliate WKTB-CD (channel 47). WANF and WPCH-TV share studios on 14th Street Northwest in Atlanta's Atlantic Station district, while WANF's transmitter is located in the city's Woodland Hills section. The station was built in 1971 as WHAE-TV (later WANX-TV), owned by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). A water tower is an elevated structure supporting a water tank constructed at a height sufficient to pressurize a water distribution system, distribution system for potable water, and to provide emergency storage for fire protection. Peachtree Street is one of several major streets running through the city of Atlanta. Marietta Street
Marietta Street is a historic street in Downtown Atlanta. The street leads from Atlanta towards the town of Marietta, as its name indicates. It begins as one of the five streets intersecting at Five Points, leading northwest, forming the southern border of Downtown's Fairlie-Poplar district, continuing through Downtown's Luckie Marietta district, then entering West Midtown's Marietta Street Artery neighborhood, until terminating at its junction with West Marietta St., Brady Ave., and 8th St. Marietta street is one of the original seven streets in Atlanta, along with Decatur, Whitehall, Peachtree, Pryor, Loyd (now Central), and Alabama. Pedestrian Island
A refuge island, also known as a pedestrian refuge or pedestrian island, is a small section of pavement or sidewalk, surrounded by asphalt or other road materials, where pedestrians can stop before finishing crossing a road. It is typically used when a street is very wide, as the pedestrian crossing can be too long for some individuals to cross in one traffic light cycle. They may also be seen on roads with higher speed limits. In the United Kingdom, refuge islands are commonly illuminated by a white 300 mm beacon mounted on a 5 m grey pole with white reflective bands.
