Unione Sportiva Fiumana or U.S. Fiumana was an Italian football club based in the present-day Croatian city of Rijeka and the predecessor of HNK Rijeka. The club was active between 1926 and 1945, at the time when the city was part of the Kingdom of Italy and was commonly referred to by its Italian name ''Fiume''. The club's home was the present-day Stadion Kantrida, which was at the time called ''Stadio Comunale del Littorio''. During its existence the club competed in the Italian league system, spending most of the time in the second and third levels, finishing their last season as 4th in Group A of the 1942–43 Serie C. Between 1943 and 1946 the club continued to play under the Fiumana name and in 1946 its management decided to rebrand the side into S.C.F. Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka ( en, Croatian Football Club Rijeka), commonly referred to as NK Rijeka or simply Rijeka, is a Croatian professional association football, football club from the city of Rijeka. Stadion Kantrida
Kantrida Stadium ( hr, Stadion Kantrida) is a football stadium in the Croatian city of Rijeka. It is named after the Kantrida neighbourhood in which it is located, in the western part of the city. It has served as the home of the HNK Rijeka football club for most years since 1946. The stadium has a distinctive appearance as it is situated between steep cliffs, a remnant of an old quarry, just north of the stadium and the shore of the Adriatic on its south side. Since 1990 the venue was occasionally used for Croatia national football team's international fixtures. The national team has never been defeated at Kantrida. The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 10,600. The stadium is scheduled for major reconstruction over the next several years.
