Fisnik Rugova (born 26 August 1989) is a Kosovan professional basketball player for Bashkimi Prizren of the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. Rugova also plays in the Kosovo national team. Professional career In June 2016, Rugova signed a contract to return to Sigal Prishtina for a second stint. With Prishtina, he played in the FIBA Europe Cup during the 2016–17 season. He averaged 4 points per game over six group stage games. National team career Rugova represents the Kosovo national basketball team. Klubi i Basketbollit Prishtina (English: ''Basketball Club Prishtina''), officially known as Sigal Prishtina due to sponsorship reasons, is a Kosovar professional basketball club based in Pristina. The team currently competes in the IP Superliga e Basketbollit, Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL) and the FIBA Europe Cup. They are the most successful club in Kosovo, having won 14 national championships, 15 national cups and 7 supercups in the last 14 years. EuroBasket 2017
EuroBasket 2017 was the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe and held between 31 August and 17 September 2017. Beginning from 2017, the continental championships take place every four years with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Like the previous edition, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in Turkey, Finland, Israel and Romania. The knock-out phase was played in Istanbul, Turkey. Slovenia won their first-ever tournament after defeating Serbia 93–85 in the final. Spain won the bronze medal by beating Russia with the same result. The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor. The league was founded in 2015 as a replacement of the FIBA EuroChallenge. History On June 30, 2015, FIBA announced it would start a new league to compete with Euroleague Basketball's EuroCup.
