Aigul Japarova
Aigul Japarova (Kyrgyz: Айгүл Жапарова, née Asanbaeva), as the wife of President Sadyr Japarov, is the incumbent First Lady of Kyrgyzstan. She is five years his junior. Biography She was born in a village in the Tüp District in 1973. She studied at a medical school, then received a higher education at the Arabaev Kyrgyz State University. Asanbayeva lived with her children abroad for three years during her husband's exile, mainly in Poland and Russia. In an interview, she claimed that she turned to President Almazbek Atambayev's wife, Raisa, for help, when her husband and son were detained by the security forces at the Kyrgyz border. She and Japarov are the parents of four children, one of whom died on 26 August 2019 in an accident. The president of Kyrgyzstan, officially the president of the Kyrgyz Republic (russian: Президент Киргизской Республики; ky, Кыргыз Республикасынын Президенти), is the head of state and head of government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The president directs the executive branch of the national government, is the commander-in-chief of the Kyrgyz military and also heads the National Security Council. Sooronbay Sharip uulu Jeenbekov (; ky, Сооронбай Шарип уулу Жээнбеков, translit=Sooronbay Şarip uulu Jeenbekov; born 16 November 1958) is a Kyrgyz politician who served as the 5th President of Kyrgyzstan from 2017 until his resignation in 2020, following a week of protests. Prior to that he served as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from April 2016 to August 2017. Jeenbekov in the beginning was widely viewed to continue his predecessor Almazbek Atambayev's policies with whom he had held close relations prior before since the 1990's that enabled Jeenbekov to rise in political ranks until two parties faced political fallout just months after he assuming office eventually leading to Atambayev's arrest and an end of his influence in Kyrgyz politics. Aygül Jeenbekova (Kyrgyz: Айгүл Жээнбекова, née Токоева), as the wife of the Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, was First Lady of Kyrgyzstan from 2017 to 2020. Biography Jeenbekova was born and raised in the village of Birinchi Kara-Kulja District of the Soviet Union's Osh Region. He was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from 17 December 2010 to 1 December 2011, and from 29 March 2007 to 28 November 2007. Kurmanbek Saliyevich Bakiyev (, ''Kurmanbek Saliyevich (Sali Uulu) Bakiyev''; born 1 August 1949) is a Kyrgyz politician who served as the second President of Kyrgyzstan, from 2005 to 2010. Large opposition protests in April 2010 led to the takeover of government offices, forcing Bakiyev to flee the country. Bakiyev was the leader of the People's Movement of Kyrgyzstan before his ascendance to the presidency. He received most of his popular support from the south of the country. Mayram Duishenovna Akaeva (Russian: Майрам Дуйшеновна Акаева) is the wife of the ousted former President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev and First Lady of Kyrgyzstan from 1990 to 2005. Tatyana Vasilevna Bakiyeva (; ; born on 26 January, late-1940s) is a Kyrgyzstani public figure who is the wife of former President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev and the First Lady of Kyrgyzstan from March 2005 to April 2010. Russian by ethnicity, she was born in Kuybyshev (now Samara) in the RSFSR and was raised in the Moldovan SSR (now Moldova). She eventually moved back to Samara and studied at the Kuybyshev Polytechnical Institute. She began her career in 1971 working at large industrial enterprises such as the production association "ZIM" in Samara. It was in Samara where she met her husband Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who was studying at her alma-mater.
