First Edition (Australian TV Program)
''First Edition'' is an Australian breakfast television news program broadcast on Sky News Australia. The program is currently hosted by Peter Stefanovic. The program is one of four breakfast news programs in Australia, competing with ''Sunrise'', ''Today'' and ''News Breakfast''. The program airs seven days a week. The program is unusual for the fact that since 2014 it is broadcast from two locations, with Jayes co-hosting from the Sky News centre in the Sydney suburb of Macquarie Park, and Gilbert hosting from studios in Parliament House, Canberra. Additionally, the program also transitions into political commentary program '' AM Agenda'' at 8:30am AEST, which Gilbert hosted solo until October 2018, after which he was joined by Jayes. Weekend editions of the program were trimmed with the launch of ''Saturday Edition'' and '' Sunday Edition'' from 9 July 2016. ''Weekend Edition'' is an Australian news and current affairs television program on Sky News Live on Saturdays and Sundays. It is the weekend incarnation of ''First Edition''. Saturday Edition ''Saturday Edition'' is a weekly Australian news and current affairs television program on Sky News Live. It is hosted by Greg Thomson and Jaynie Seal. The program was premiered on 9 July 2016 and runs from 7am to 10am (AEST) on Saturdays. It was originally planned to have the show break out for 30 minutes to allow '' Pyne & Marles'' to appear, but that program was moved to Friday afternoons after ''Saturday Edition'' began. The program replaces the bulk of ''First Edition'' as Sky News' breakfast program. The program was hosted by Paul Murray, along with ''Paul Murray Live''. Laura Jayes
Laura Jayes (born 24 December 1983) is an Australian journalist and television presenter. Jayes currently co-hosts ''First Edition'' and '' AM Agenda'' on Sky News Australia. Career Jayes joined Sky News in 2006 as a reporter, and in 2011 became a political reporter and member of the press gallery based in Canberra. She was the presenter of '' Lunchtime Agenda'' before the program was axed in June 2015. Jayes returned to Sydney in 2014 and in 2015 began anchoring the Friday edition of ''NewsDay''. Jayes was nominated as favourite female personality in the 2014 ASTRA Awards. On 18 January 2016, Jayes was given her own primetime program '' The Latest with Laura Jayes'' which aired on weeknights. Terry Willesee
Terence Joseph Willesee (born 27 April 1945) is an Australian retired journalist and television and radio presenter. Personal life Willesee is the son of the Don Willesee, a long-time member of the Australian Senate and Whitlam Government minister. He is the brother of the late Mike Willesee, who was also a journalist and television presenter. Career Willesee began his media career in Perth in 1969. He initially worked as a television news reporter before branching out into newsreading and producing documentaries. He produced and presented 14 prime time documentaries for STW TV station in Perth. Leigh Hatcher (born 25 August 1955) is a veteran broadcast Australian journalist and author. Hatcher's career highlights include working as the bureau chief for the Macquarie Radio Network in the Canberra Press Gallery. He has also worked at various radio stations including 2CA in Canberra and 5DN in Adelaide. Hatcher was also employed by the Seven Network where he worked as a political correspondent in Canberra as well as a European correspondent when he lived in London, between the years of 1983 and 1985. After returning from London, Hatcher took a break from television and returned to the radio station 5DN and hosted a radio show.
