Rik Offenberger (born January 30, 1964) is an American comic book journalist and publicity agent, an early utilizer of the Internet for distributing comics news, and the public relations coordinator of Archie Comics. Career Offenberger started his career in comics as a retailer at Paper Hero Comics in Chino, California. He began writing for the ''Comics Buyer's Guide'' in March 1992, where he covered stories about retailers to help promote the comics shop. Following work on the ''Comics Buyer's Guide'', he began working for the British '' Borderline Comics Magazine'' until it was discontinued. This was followed by a move to the Internet, where he worked as an interviewer and senior feature editor at ''Silver Bullet Comic Books'' (now ''Comics Bulletin''), conducting interviews with comics professionals. Norwalk is a city in Los Angeles County, California, Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 105,549 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census and an estimated 103,949 in 2019. It is the 58th most densely-populated city in California. Alternative comics cover a range of American comics that have appeared since the 1980s, following the underground comix movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Alternative comics present an alternative to mainstream superhero comics which in the past have dominated the American comic book industry. Alternative comic books span a wide range of genres, artistic styles, and subjects. Alternative comics are often published in small numbers as the author(s) deem fit. Michael Netzer
Michael Netzer (born 9 October 1955) is an American-Israeli artist best known for his comic book work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s, as well as for his online presence. Early life Michael Nasser (later Netzer) was born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S. His father was Adel Nasser a-Din, a Druze doctor of philosophy who worked most of his life in a Ford factory. His mother, Adele Ghazali, is a daughter to a Druze-Lebanese father and a Jewish-Lebanese mother who settled in New York in the 1920s. He contracted polio at the age of eight months which partially paralyzed his left hip and leg. After two years of medical treatment, he was sent with his mother and siblings to his father's Druze hometown, Dayr Qūbil in Lebanon. In 1967, at the age of 11, he returned to Detroit. Ian Flynn (born May 31, 1982), also known by his Internet pen name Ian Potto, is an American comic book writer. He was chief writer for Archie Comics's ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' since issue #160, after the departure of the previous chief writer Ken Penders, till Archie's cancelation on the run at issue #290. As of April 4, 2018, he is the lead writer of IDW Publishing's ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' comic series and ''Sonic Frontiers''. Beau Smith (born December 17, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia) is an American comic book writer and columnist, best known for his work for DC Comics, Image Comics, IDW Publishing and as vice president of marketing for Eclipse Comics. Career Early career A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Smith is a graduate of Marshall University in journalism.
