First Cabinet Of Louis Mathieu Molé
The First cabinet of Louis Mathieu Molé was announced on 6 September 1836 by King Louis Philippe I. It replaced the First cabinet of Adolphe Thiers. On 19 September 1836 the Ministry of Commerce was replaced by the Ministry of Public Works, Agriculture and Commerce. Following an insurrection on 30 October 1836 in Strasbourg, on 24 January 1837 the Minister of War, Bernard, introduced a draft law that would stop prosection of crimes committed by the military and the civil authorities during the riots. Discussion began in the Chamber of Deputies on 28 February and continued until 7 March, when it was rejected by the deputies. This caused a ministerial crisis. Count Charles Marie Tanneguy Duchâtel (19 February 1803, Paris – 5 November 1867, Paris) was a French politician. Nicolas Martin Du Nord
Nicolas Martin du Nord (29 July 1790 – 12 March 1847) was a French magistrate and politician. He was Minister of Public Works, Agriculture and Commerce (1835–39) and Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs (1840–47). Early years Nicolas Ferdinand Louis Joseph Martin was born in Douai, Nord, on 29 July 1790. His parents were Louis François Joseph Martin and Anne Louise Josèphe Jacquard. His family was bourgeois and respectable, but not wealthy. He studied at the college of Tournay. He went on to study law in Paris between 1808 and 1811, receiving his doctorate in law at the age of 21. Martin began to practice at the bar of Douai, and soon gained a reputation. He was named in turn municipal councillor, assistant judge, and administrator and vice-president of the Douai hospices. He married Camille Emilie Gautier-Dagoty (1796–1814). François Guizot
François Pierre Guillaume Guizot (; 4 October 1787 – 12 September 1874) was a French historian, orator, and statesman. Guizot was a dominant figure in French politics prior to the Revolution of 1848. A conservative liberal who opposed the attempt by King Charles X to usurp legislative power, he worked to sustain a constitutional monarchy following the July Revolution of 1830. He then served the "citizen king" Louis Philippe, as Minister of Education, 1832–37, ambassador to London, Foreign Minister 1840–1847, and finally Prime Minister of France from 19 September 1847 to 23 February 1848. Claude Charles Marie du Campe de Rosamel (24 June 1774 – 27 March 1848) was a French politician and naval officer. Rosales was born at the Château de Rosamel in Frencq, Northern France on June 24, 1774. He was commander of the ''Pomone'' in the action of 29 November 1811 against the British. Rosamel was wounded in action. He served as French naval minister from September 6, 1836 until March 31, 1839. During his administration, several national scientific voyages were launched, most notably that of the ''Astrolabe'' to the Magellan Straits and Antarctica. Charles François Marie, Comte de Rémusat (, 13 March 1797 – 6 June 1875), was a French politician and writer. Biography He was born in Paris. His father, Auguste Laurent, Comte de Rémusat, whose family came from Toulouse, was chamberlain to Napoleon Bonaparte, but acquiesced in the restoration and became prefect first of Haute Garonne, and then of Nord. Charles' mother was Claire Élisabeth Jeanne Gravier de Vergennes, Madame de Rémusat. He developed political views more liberal than those of his parents, and having been brought up for a career in law, he published in 1820 a pamphlet on trial by jury. Louis-Mathieu Molé (24 January 1781 – 23 November 1855), also 1st Count Molé from 1809 to 1815, was a French statesman, close friend and associate of Louis Philippe I, King of the French during the July Monarchy (1830–1848). Biography Molé was born in Paris. His father, a president of the parlement of Paris, who came of the family of the famous president noted below, was guillotined during the Terror. Count Molé's early days were spent in Switzerland and in England with his mother, a relative of Lamoignon-Malesherbes. On his return to France, he studied at the Ecole Centrale des Travaux Publics, and his social education was accomplished in the salon of Pauline de Beaumont, the friend of Châteaubriand and Joubert. Adrien De Gasparin
Adrien Étienne Pierre, comte de Gasparin (June 29, 1783 in Orange, Vaucluse – September 7, 1862 in Orange, Vaucluse) was a French statesman and agriculturist. Biography He entered the army, but was soon compelled by illness to give up military life. After the revolution of 1830 he was made successively prefect of the departments of Loire and Isère, and in 1831 of Rhône. For his promptness in suppressing an insurrection at Lyons in 1834, he was raised to the peerage. He became minister of the interior in 1836, and gave his attention especially to prison reforms and the establishment of hospitals. He occupied the same position in the short-lived cabinet of March 1839. In 1848 he accepted the management of the national agricultural institute at Versailles. The institute was abolished in 1852. Jean-Charles Persil (13 October 1785 – 10 July 1870) was a French politician. He was Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs (1834–1837) during the July Monarchy, a peer of France (1839) and Councillor of State (1852). Early years Jean-Charles Persil was born in Condom, Gers, on 13 October 1785. His parents were Jean-Joseph Persil, a merchant and bourgeois, and Marie Denux. He was destined for the bar. He came to Paris early, studied law for one year and was received as a doctor in 1806. He published a book on mortgages in 1809, followed by one on privileges and mortgages in 1812. He considered teaching law, and competed for a chair at Grenoble and at Paris. He was admitted to the bar and he earned a solid reputation as a jurist.
