Firouz Pojhan
Firouz Pojhan ( fa, فيروز پژهان; October 3, 1926 – 1996) was an Iranian weightlifter who was a member of Iran senior national weightlifting team. He participated at the 1951 and 1958 Asian Games, in which he won the gold medal of both events in his division, and the 1951, 1957 and 1958 World Weightlifting Championships, in which he won the bronze medal of all events in his division. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk. The ''snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion.
