Hits Radio Bournemouth & Poole is an Independent Local radio station owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Hits Radio Network. The station broadcast to Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch, Dorset, based in Segensworth in Fareham The station was originally launched on 26 June 1999 by founding Directors James Bromley and David Harber as FM 107.6 The NRG, but changed name a year later following a dispute with French radio station NRJ. The station is now owned and operated by Bauer Radio History The NRG (Nerve Radio Group) was born out of the Bournemouth student station Nerve* Radio. Nerve* Radio
Nerve Radio is the Student Union run radio station for Bournemouth University. It was started in 1995 by two Bournemouth University students David Harber and James Bromley in a Portable building, portacabin on the University's Talbot Campus, and now operates online through its website. During each academic year, Nerve Radio broadcasts on a temporary FM broadcasting, FM licence around the Bournemouth area, usually at the end of the Spring term in March. Nerve Radio broadcasts every day during term time. Live Radio programming, programming runs from 9am until 10pm, with general shows during the day and specialist programming in the evening. During FM broadcasts, live programming usually starts earlier. North Dorset was a local government district in Dorset, England. It was largely rural, but included the towns of Blandford Forum, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Stalbridge and Sturminster Newton.
