Firas Khoury
Firas Khoury is a Palestinian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing the feature film ''Alam'' and short film ''Maradona's Legs''. Career Firas graduated from Tel Aviv University with a BFA in Film. In 2008, he attended the Berlinale Talent Campus. He taught cinematic expression at the Freedom Theatre in Jenin Camp. He is the founder of Falastinema Group, which presents screenings and cinema activities throughout Palestine. In 2010, his short film ''Yellow Mums'', won the Best Short Film at the Jerusalem Film Festival. His short film ''Maradona's Legs'', premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2019. The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is an international cultural initiative overseen by the Asia Pacific Screen Academy and headquartered in Australia. The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is an international film festival which takes place annually in York, England, at the beginning of November. Founded in 2011, it is a celebration of independent film from around the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing filmmaking. The Sedicicorto International Film Festival (sometimes stylised as 16corto) is a competitive short film festival held each October in the Italian city of Forlì since 2004. History In March 2004, the Sedicicorto Association was founded in Forlì by Gianluca Castellini with the aim to launch the first short film festival of the Romagna subregion. The project was born during a directing course held by an Argentinian photographer in Forlì, with Castellini as a participant. The first edition of the festival was established in October 2004.
