Andrea Finocchiaro Aprile (26 June 1878–14 January 1964) was an Italian politician. Biography He was born in Lercara Friddi on 26 June 1878 as the son of Camillo Finocchiaro Aprile, a liberal politician and several times minister, and the Sicilian noblewoman Giovanna Sartorio. His brother was Emanuele Finocchiaro Aprile, also a Deputy during the Kingdom of Italy. Andrea Finocchiaro Aprile was a professor of "history of law" at the University of Ferrara and at the University of Siena. He began his political activity with the election as deputy to the Chamber of Deputies in 1913 as a liberal, following in his father's footsteps. Re-elected in 1919 with Democratic Social Party, he was appointed Undersecretary for War in the Nitti I Cabinet until 1920 and Undersecretary for Finance in the Nitti II Cabinet. Anna Finocchiaro Fidelbo (; born 31 March 1955) is an Italian politician. She was the Democratic Party's leader in the Senate from 2007 to 2013. She served as Minister for Equal Opportunities in the cabinet of Romano Prodi from 1996 to 1998. Biography Born in Modica, Finocchiaro graduated in law in 1978, and she worked for the Banca d'Italia's branch in Savona before becoming a magistrate in Leonforte in 1982. She served as a magistrate until 1985, when she was appointed as a deputy public prosecutor at the court of Catania. She was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies as a member of the Italian Communist Party in 1987; she was elected to Catania's council in 1988. Camillo Finocchiaro Aprile (1851–1916) was an Italian jurist and politician. He held several cabinet posts and was a long-term member of the Italian Parliament. Biography Finocchiaro Aprile was born in Palermo on 28 January 1851. He received a degree in law in 1873 and was elected as a municipal councilor in Palermo while studying law. He served at the Parliament from 1882 to his death in 1916. He was the minister of posts and telegraphs between May 1892 and November 1893 in the first Giolitti cabinet. He also served as the minister of justice for three terms (1898–1899; 1905–1906; 1911–1914). He was the vice president of the Parliament for four times in the period between 1895 and 1916 with some intervals. He died in Rome on 26 January 1916. Francesco Paolo Finocchiaro
Francesco Paolo Finocchiaro (15 March 1868 – 26 April 1947) was an Italian painter, known mostly for his portraits. Biography He was born in Randazzo in the Sicily. He studied at the Istituto di Belle Arti di Napoli, under Domenico Morelli. He then spent five years in Rome, supporting himself by painting portraits. He did have a commission to paint a ''Baptism of Jesus'' for the Basilica church of Santa Maria Assunta in Randazzo. He made copies of a painting by Prospero Piatti found in the Duomo di Ferrara, and of an ''Enthroned Madonna'' by Pietro Vanni and other paintings. He traveled for some time to Ferrara and Paris. In the final years of the 19th-century and first few of the 20th, he moved to United States. In 1902, he married Florence Angel Manson. Their only son died prematurely. Giusella Finocchiaro is Professor of Private Law and Internet Law at the University of Bologna, Italy. She is also the founder of her own private legal practice. Besides her professional role, Giusella Finocchiaro is also the Chairperson of Working Group 4 (Electronic Commerce) of UNCITRAL (the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law).
