Finlay Christie
Finlay Turner Christie (born 19 September 1995) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a half-back for Super Rugby club Blues. Born in Scotland, he represents New Zealand at international level after qualifying on residency grounds. Early life Christie was born in Peebles in Scotland, but moved to New Zealand aged 7 and settled in the city of Pukekohe. He shone both at gymnastics and rugby during his schooldays. Christie attended Saint Kentigern College where he played for the college's top side. He represented at under 19 level before heading south to Christchurch for university. In 2016 he was awarded the Hawkins Medal as Canterbury's top club rugby player for his performances for the University of Canterbury. The Waikato Rugby Union (WRU) is the official governing body of rugby union in the Waikato area in the North Island of New Zealand. Headquartered in Hamilton, WRU was founded in 1921. Super Rugby Aotearoa currently named the Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa for sponsorship purposes is a professional men's rugby union national club competition in New Zealand. Originally created to supplement the 2020 Super Rugby season, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament will continue in 2021 until a new tournament can be arranged for 2022 and beyond. 2020 Super Rugby Season
The 2020 Super Rugby season was the 25th season of Super Rugby, an international men's rugby union competition organised by SANZAAR involving teams from Argentina, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa. It is the third tournament in its current 15 team format, the last before the Japanese side the Sunwolves withdraw from the tournament ahead of a new format in 2021. Eden Park
Eden Park is New Zealand's largest sports stadium, with a capacity of 50,000. The 2020 Mitre 10 Cup season was the fifteenth season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition since it turned professional in 2006. The regular season began on September 11, when North Harbour hosted Canterbury. It involved the top fourteen rugby unions of New Zealand. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the Mitre 10 Cup and it was the fifth season under the lead sponsor.
