Fingerprint Records is an independent record label formed in 1990 by Mark Heard, Dan Russell, and Chuck Long. The label released Heard's albums and albums by The Call, Vigilantes of Love, Ramona Silver, bob., and two tribute albums to Heard after his death in 1992. Heard also owned a studio, which he called Fingerprint Recorders. Mark Heard
John Mark Heard III (December 16, 1951 – August 16, 1992) was an American record producer, folk rock singer and songwriter from Macon, Georgia. Heard released sixteen albums, and produced or performed with many artists, including: Sam Phillips (aka Leslie Phillips), Pierce Pettis, Phil Keaggy, Vigilantes of Love, Peter Buck of R.E.M. (who co-produced VOL's album ''Killing Floor'' with Heard), The Choir, Randy Stonehill and Michael Been of The Call. Heard produced part of Olivia Newton-John's ''The Rumour'' (1988), which also included a cover of Heard's own "Big and Strong" (originally called "How to Grow Up Big and Strong"). A Tribute To Mark Heard
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. ''Orphans of God'' is a 1996 two-CD compilation of songs performed by various artists in tribute to songwriter Mark Heard. Recorded and released after Heard's death in 1992, proceeds from the album benefit the Heard Family Fund. This album was listed at #25 in the book, '' CCM Presents: The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music''. Some of the tracks had been released in 1994 as part of the single disc collection ''Strong Hand of Love''. One song from that album, Phil Keaggy's version of "I Always Do," was replaced by his version of "Everything Is Alright." Dan Russell (artist Manager)
Dan Russell is an artist, singer songwriter, artist advocate, producer and concert and event promoter. A graduate of Walpole High School in Massachusetts and later Barrington College, Russell is known for managing both the American rock band the Call and songwriter Michael Been and has worked in various capacities with such artists as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sam Philips, Mark Heard, U2 and Brad Corrigan, Cheryl Kelley, Robin Lane, Ramona Silver, Vigilantes of Love, Rachael Taylor, among others. Russell is the president of New Sound Artist Management and NewSound International and the co-founder (along with the late Mark Heard and Chuck Long) of record label Fingerprint Records. In 1994 he received a Grammy nomination for producing Fingerprint's compilation album '' Strong Hand of Love: A Tribute to Mark Heard'', to which he also contributed the song, "I Just Wanna Get Warm."
