Finders Keepers (1966 Film)
''Finders Keepers'' is a 1966 British musical film directed by Sidney Hayers, written by Michael Pertwee and starring Cliff Richard and The Shadows. It was released in the U.S. the following year. A search was made to find an actress to play the Spanish girl who falls for Cliff, and the 21-year-old Viviane Ventura won the role: born in London, but fluent in Spanish, she sang a spirited duet with Cliff on "Paella". Plot Cliff and The Shadows travel to a Spanish town for a gig. When they arrive they are puzzled to find the area empty. They find out that a small bomb has accidentally been dropped on the town and the villagers have fled in panic that it will go off. The boys decide to find the bomb and restore peace in the village, with some musical numbers along the way. Sidney Hayers
Sidney Hayers (24 August 1921 – 8 February 2000) was a British film and television director, writer and producer. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Hayers began his career as a film editor. Among the films he directed are ''Circus of Horrors'' (1960), the occult thriller ''Night of the Eagle'' (1962), a musical ''Three Hats for Lisa'' (1965), and the adventure films '' The Southern Star'' (1969) and '' The Trap'' (1966). In British TV, his credits included ''The Persuaders!'' and '' The New Avengers''; he later directed several American TV shows, including episodes of ''Magnum, P.I.'', ''The A-Team'', ''Knight Rider'', ''T. J. Hooker'', ''Baywatch'' and ''The Famous Five''. Hayers died of cancer in 2000 in Altea, Spain. His wife was the actress Erika Remberg. Ellen Pollock
Ellen Pollock (29 June 1902 – 29 March 1997) was a British character actress who mainly appeared on stage in London's West End. She also appeared in several films and TV productions. A devotee of Bernard Shaw, she was president of the Shaw Society from 1949. In their obituary, the ''Independent'' wrote "Pollock is believed to have played, in a career spanning 72 years, more Shavian heroines than anyone else. She directed London seasons of his plays; and it was during the London premiere of one of his lesser-known works – ''Farfetched Fables'' (Watergate, 1950) – that she announced Shaw's death from the stage." Pollock's dedication to acting began as a seven-year-old, when she saw Sarah Bernhardt on stage; she knew then that she wanted to be an actress herself. ''Kinda Latin'' is the tenth studio album by Cliff Richard, released in 1966. It is his seventeenth album overall. The album reached number 9 in the UK Album Charts in a 12 week run in the top 30. Reception The album was reviewed by Dave Thompson at AllMusic who wrote that "It's a terrific album, and no mistake". Thompson felt that in comparison to his albums recorded in Italian and Spanish, "Left to his own English language devices, however, Richard's natural vocal powers can scarcely be faulted - even the most practiced rehearsal can sound like an ad lib, and it doesn't matter how many times you catch that chuckle at the end of "Blame It on the Bossa Nova," it still seems as natural as breathing". Norrie Paramor
Norman William Paramor (15 May 1914 – 9 September 1979), known professionally as Norrie Paramor, was a British record producer, composer, arranger, pianist, bandleader, and orchestral conductor. He is best known for his work with Cliff Richard and the Shadows, both together and separately, steering their early careers and producing and arranging most of their material from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Paramor was a composer of studio albums, theatrical productions, and film scores. Columbia Graphophone Co. Ltd. was one of the earliest phonograph, gramophone companies in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1917 as an offshoot of the American Columbia Records, Columbia Phonograph Company, it became an independent British-owned company in 1922 in a management buy-out after the parent company went into receivership. In 1925 it acquired a controlling interest in its American parent company to take advantage of a new electrical recording process. The British firm also controlled the US operations from 1925 until 1931. That year Columbia Graphophone in the UK merged with the Gramophone Company (which sold records under the HMV label) to form EMI. Abbey Road Studios (formerly EMI Recording Studios) is a recording studio at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music Group (UMG) took control of part of it in 2013. Robert Hutton (born Robert Bruce Winne; June 11, 1920 – August 7, 1994) was an American actor. Early life Robert Bruce Winne was born in Kingston, New York, and grew up in Ulster County, New York. He was the son of a hardware merchant and was a cousin of the Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton. He attended Blair Academy, a small boarding school in Blairstown, New Jersey. Career Before he ventured into films, Hutton acted at the Woodstock Playhouse in Woodstock, New York, for two seasons. His film debut as Robert Hutton came in '' Destination Tokyo'' (1943).
