''Find Your Own Way Home'' is the fifteenth studio album by REO Speedwagon. It was produced by Joe Vannelli and Kevin Cronin and was released in 2007 by Speedwagon Recordings and Mailboat Records. The album came eleven years after the band's previous studio album, ''Building the Bridge''. The album found the band returning to its trademark hard rock sound after the soft ballads of ''Bridge''. Though the album did not chart, it did produce the minor hit " I Needed to Fall", which peaked at #25 on the ''Billboard'' Adult Contemporary chart. "Smilin' in the End" was released at the same time as "I Needed to Fall" to classic rock stations, but did not chart. The third single from the album, the title track, reached #23 on the ''Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart''. REO Speedwagon (originally stylized as R.E.O. Speedwagon) is an American rock band from Champaign, Illinois. Formed in 1967, the band cultivated a following during the 1970s and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s. The group's best-selling album, ''Hi Infidelity'' (1980), contained four US top 40 hits and sold more than 10 million copies. Over the course of their career, the band has sold more than 40 million records and has charted 13 top 40 hits, including the number ones " Keep On Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling". "Take It on the Run" is a song by American rock band REO Speedwagon off the band's ninth studio album ''Hi Infidelity'' (1980). The song was written by lead guitarist Gary Richrath. "Take It on the Run" was the follow-up single behind the group's number-one hit, " Keep on Loving You". The single went gold on April 17, 1989. "Take It on the Run" has appeared on dozens of "various artists" compilation albums, as well as several REO Speedwagon greatest-hits albums. The 2017 song " Messin' Around" by Pitbull featuring Enrique Iglesias interpolates "Take It on the Run". The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. Hammond Organ
The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert and first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, Hammond organs generated sound by creating an electric current from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and then strengthening the signal with an amplifier to drive a speaker cabinet. The organ is commonly used with the Leslie speaker. Around two million Hammond organs have been manufactured. The organ was originally marketed by the Hammond Organ Company to churches as a lower-cost alternative to the wind-driven pipe organ, or instead of a piano. Neal Doughty
Neal Allan Doughty (born July 29, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana) is an American keyboardist, best known as a founding member of the rock band REO Speedwagon and the only member to have played on every album. He formed the band in fall 1967, with original drummer Alan Gratzer. Although he has never been one of REO Speedwagon's primary songwriters, Doughty has written or co-written several of the band's songs. Songs for which he is the sole composer include "Sky Blues" from 1974, " One Lonely Night" from 1984 and "Variety Tonight" from 1987. The latter two songs charted as ''Billboard'' singles, with "One Lonely Night" cracking the top 20. His most notable playing includes the Hammond organ solo on "Roll with the Changes" and the honky-tonk piano work on " 157 Riverside Avenue". "In Your Letter" is a song written by Gary Richrath that was first released on REO Speedwagon's 1980 album ''Hi Infidelity''. It was released as the fourth single from the album and just made the Top 20 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, peaking at #20. It also reached #26 on the ''Billboard'' Adult Contemporary chart. It also had some chart success in Canada, reaching #34. Lyrics and music Richrath was inspired to write the song based on a real life incident. According to band member Kevin Cronin, at the end of a tour fellow band member Neal Doughty came home to find a letter from his wife on the kitchen table informing him that she had left him for another man. The other man turned out to be the person who supplied the band with their "illegal substances." According to Cronin, Doughty's response to the letter was "I’m really gonna miss that guy." Thomas F. Kelly (born April 16, 1952) is an American musician, best known for his songwriting partnership with Billy Steinberg. Steinberg and Kelly co-wrote numerous hit songs for popular music artists, including five number-one singles on the ''Billboard'' Top 100 chart in the 1980s. Early life Originally from Indiana, Kelly lived in Effingham, Illinois from 1963 to 1966, before moving back to West Lafayette, Indiana where he graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1967. Kelly attended Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Purdue University, but dropped out of college to pursue his music career.
