Final Exit (band)
Final Exit was a Swedish straight edge hardcore band which originating from Umeå, formed in 1994. The band was a side project made up by the members of Refused and Abhinanda and was active from 1994 to 1997. History Final Exit formed in 1994 by Dennis Lyxzén (D-Rp), David Sandström (Dave Exit), Pär Hansson (SXE Guile) and Kristoffer Steen (Kid Stone). Unlike most of the band in Umeå at the time Final Exit played a more old-school hardcore influenced by band such as Sick of it All, Youth of Today and Agnostic Front instead of the more metal influenced hardcore sound of the nineties. Final Exit quickly gained a reputation as the members of the band worked on creating a myth about themselves and the Umeå hardcore scene with acts such as naming their first album "Teg" which portrayed the upperclass suburb of Teg as a rough ghetto. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant hippie cultural climate of the time. Monument Records
Monument Records is an American record label in Washington, D.C. named for the Washington Monument, founded in 1958 by Fred Foster, Buddy Deane (a prominent Baltimore disc jockey at WTTG), and business manager Jack Kirby. Buddy Deane soon left the company, and in the early '60s bought KOTN in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he lived in retirement until his death. Refused
Refused (also known as the Refused) is a Swedish hardcore punk band originating from Umeå and formed in 1991. Refused is composed of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarist Kristofer Steen, drummer David Sandström, and bassist Magnus Flagge. Guitarist Jon Brännström was a member from 1994, through reunions, until he was fired in late-2014. Their lyrics are often of a non-conformist and politically far-left nature and were for a time associated with the straight edge subculture. Abhinanda
Abhinanda is a Swedish hardcore punk band that was active from 1992 until 1999 (with brief reunions in 2004 and from 2009 to 2010), releasing three albums. The band was part of the Umeå hardcore scene and had close ties to influential hardcore band Refused, which members formed the supergroup Final Exit, which released two albums. All members of the group were straight edge and either vegan or vegetarian. AC4 (band)
AC4 is a Swedish hardcore punk band from Umeå, Sweden. Refused members Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström had been talking about starting a new band for a long time. In the spring of 2008 Karl Backman had written songs for the new band and they started to rehearse. Jens Nordén had played with Lyxzén in pre-Refused straight edge hardcore band Step Forward (1987-1991) and since 1990 with Backman in punk band The Vectors. The "AC" in the name is the regional code for the Västerbotten province where Umeå is located. The first show was at a squat on Parkgatan in Umeå on May 5, 2008. The (International) Noise Conspiracy
The (International) Noise Conspiracy (abbreviated T(I)NC) were a Swedish rock band formed in Sweden in the late months of 1998. The line-up consists of Dennis Lyxzén (vocals), Inge Johansson (bass), Lars Strömberg (guitar), and Ludwig Dahlberg (drums). The band is known for its punk and garage rock musical influences, and its impassioned left-wing political stance. Up until 2004, guitarist/organist/keyboardist Sara Almgren was also a member of the band. Dennis formed The (I)NC almost immediately after the breakup of his former band, Refused. David Sandström
David Sandström (born 2 January 1975) is the drummer for hardcore punk group Refused. After Refused broke up, Sandström and the other members of Refused worked on a project entitled TEXT and released one album. Then David went on to do solo work. In 2008 he formed the hardcore punk band AC4 with Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén, playing bass guitar. Sandström states that before Refused formed he was a "glue-sniffing death metal kid" but eventually a fan of Step Forward, the embryo of Refused. Sven Olov Dennis Lyxzén (born June 19, 1972) is a Swedish singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist for influential Swedish hardcore punk band Refused, as well as the bands INVSN and Fake Names. Kristofer Steen
Kristofer Steen (born June 26, 1974) is a Swedish musician, who is the guitarist for hardcore punk band Refused. He directed ''Refused Are Fucking Dead'', a 2006 documentary charting the demise of Refused in 1998. After Refused's demise, Steen formed a band called TEXT with fellow Refused guitarist Jon Brännström and Refused drummer David Sandström, as well as embarking upon his own projects. Pär Johan Åke Hansson (born 22 June 1986) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He represented Helsingborgs IF, Ängelholms FF, and Feyenoord during a professional career that spanned between 2005 and 2019.
