Filyos Bay
Filyos (Hisarönü) is a belde town in Çaycuma district of Zonguldak Province, Turkey. It is a coastal town of the Black Sea Region at situated at the mouth of the Filyos River. It is to Çaycuma and to Zonguldak. In the ancient history the name of the town was Tieion referring to the founder of the town. The settlement was declared a seat of township in 1954. The main economic activity of the town is firebrick industry. Tourism is also promising. Its population is 5268. Filyos Natural-gas Processing Plant
Filyos Natural-gas Processing Plant ( tr, Filyos Doğal Gaz İşleme Tesisi) is a plant under construction for natural-gas processing located at the port of Filyos in Çaycuma district, Zonguldak Province, Turkey. The plant will purify raw natural gas delivered by submarine pipelines from the offshore platforms on the Sakarya gas field in the Turkish part of the Black Sea. It is expected that the laying down of nearly -long pipeline undersea will start in June 2022. It is planned that the construction of the pipeline with pipes of length each will last around five months. The plant will be connected to the national natural gas pipeline system in the first quarter of 2023, and will eventually process 3.5 billion cubic metres a year. Tieion
Tium ( el, Τῖον) was an ancient settlement, also known as Filyos ( el, Φίλειος), on the south coast of the Black Sea at the mouth of the river Billaeus in present-day Turkey. Ancient writers variously assigned it to ancient Paphlagonia or Bithynia. Zonguldak
Zonguldak () is a city and the capital of Zonguldak Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It was established in 1849 as a port town for the nearby coal mines in Ereğli and the coal trade remains its main economic activity. Filyos River
The Filyos River is a river in northern Turkey. The longest branch of the Filyos is formed near Karabük by several tributaries. It flows to the west through a deep canyon past Yenice. Just north of Devrek, it is joined by major branches flowing from the south and southwest, and then flows north past Beycuma and Çaycuma to reach the Black Sea. The mouth of the river is just east of the modern town of Filyos, in Zonguldak Province. Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the villages (and also subdistricts) are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. However, on 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040.
