Filterheadz
Filterheadz are a techno DJ and production duo from Leuven, Belgium. Formed by brothers Bert and Maarten Wilmaers. History In the mid-1980s, the Filterheadz made their first musical steps by playing in a pop band. Bert played guitar, Maarten was a drummer. Their role models were bands such as U2, The Police and Simple Minds, and still today these influences are audible in their songs. After a whole series of pop, rock, metal and R&B projects with rather modest success, they continuously approached the field of electronic dance music through remixes by Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and David Morales. Therefore, their recent productions are strongly oriented towards the American House scene. In 1998, they were contracted by the Belgian label Headroom Music. After a few publications under various pseudonyms, they decided to opt for the name "Filterheadz". At that time, Jo Casters' attention was raised and he ordered a number of remixes from them. Intec Records
Intec Digital is a record company rediscovered after four years of inactivity on the ground of Intec Records. Originally, Intec Records was started by Carl Cox and DJ C1 in 1998. The record label's greatest success was the summer hit "Sunshine" by Belgian act Tomaz vs. Filterheadz which sold a total of 25,000 copies. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. Drum machines from the 1980s such as Roland's TR-808 and TR-909 are highly prized, and software emulations of such retro instruments are popular. Much of the instrumentation in techno emphasizes the role of rhythm over other musical parameters. Struggle For Pleasure
"Struggle for Pleasure" is a musical piece released in 1983 by Belgian composer Wim Mertens. It is the theme music used by the Belgian phone operator Proximus. It was featured in the Peter Greenaway movie ''The Belly of an Architect''. Energy 52's track "Café Del Mar" features a main melody based on "Struggle for Pleasure". Tijs Michiel Verwest (; born 17 January 1969), known professionally as Tiësto ( ), is a Dutch DJ and music producer from Breda. He was voted "the Greatest DJ of All Time" by '' Mix'' magazine in a 2010/2011 poll amongst fans. In 2013, he was voted by ''DJ Mag'' readers as the "best DJ of the last 20 years". He is also regarded as the "Godfather of EDM" by many sources. Eddie Amador
Eddie Amador (born 1967) is best known as an international house music producer, remixer and DJ. He penned the song "House Music" in 1997 and is an established icon in house music. Biography Amador's productions in 2011 included "Spirituality" on Erick Morillo’s Subliminal label and 10 Lil Indians on Amador's imprint, Citrusonic Recordings. Eddie's records are supported by well-known DJs including David Guetta, Kaskade, Annie Nightingale, D.O.N.S., Robbie Rivera, Thomas Gold, and others. Bedrock (also known as John Digweed & Nick Muir) are a British electronic dance music duo comprising John Digweed and Nick Muir. Biography They produced the singles "For What You Dream Of" (1993, featured in ''Trainspotting''), "Set in Stone" / "Forbidden Zone" (1997), "Heaven Scent" (1999) (featured in the film ''Groove'') and "Voices" (2000), all of which reached the UK Singles Chart. He is also known as Cajmere, Geo Vogt, Half Pint, Curan Stone, and Gino Vittori. Early life Curtis Alan Jones was born on April 26, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up listening to blues, jazz, funk, and rock. In the mid 1980s, he was introduced to house music via the radio. Ibiza
Ibiza (natively and officially in ca, Eivissa, ) is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is from the city of Valencia. Platypus (band)
Platypus was an American progressive rock / jazz-fusion supergroup, that consisted of members from Dream Theater, King's X and Dixie Dregs. The group was formed in 1997 and disbanded in 2000. Tabor, Myung and Morgenstein would continue working together as The Jelly Jam. History Platypus was conceived by Dream Theater bassist John Myung and (then) Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian as a creative outlet where ideas that wouldn't fit in Dream Theater could be developed. Joined by guitarist Ty Tabor of King's X (who also sang lead vocals) and drummer Rod Morgenstein of Dixie Dregs, they released two albums between 1997 and 2000. Progressive Trance
Trance is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. Trance music is characterized by a tempo generally lying between 135–150 beats per minute (BPM), repeating melodic phrases and a musical form that distinctly builds tension and elements throughout a track often culminating in 1 to 2 "peaks" or "drops".
