Filsan Abdi
Filsan Abdullahi Ahmed (; ; born 1992), also called Filsan Abdi, is an Ethiopian activist and politician from the Somali Region. She is a founder of the ''Nabad'' project, a satellite television station for promoting communication and peace in Somali Region and between the Somali and Oromo communities. Filsan was appointed the federal Ethiopian Minister of Women, Children and Youth on 12 March 2020, becoming the youngest person in the Abiy Ahmed cabinet and the first Somali Ethiopian to be appointed to a federal government position. She resigned from the cabinet in September 2021. In December 2021, she stated to ''The Washington Post'' that she had resigned in relation to Abiy's handling of the Tigray War. Dire Dawa
Dire Dawa ( am, ድሬዳዋ, om, Dirree Dhawaa, 3=Place of Remedy; so, Diridhaba, meaning "where Dir hit his spear into the ground" or "The true Dir", ar, ديري داوا,) is a city in eastern Ethiopia near the Oromia and Somali Region border and one of two chartered cities in Ethiopia (the other being Addis Ababa, the capital). Dire Dawa alongside present-day Sitti Zone were apart of the Dire Dawa autonomous region stipulated in the 1987 Ethiopian Constitution until 1993 when it was split by the federal government into a separately administered chartered city. This was due to the ongoing clashes between the OLF and IGLF and prevented any further escalation. Ethiopia's National Youth Movement for Freedom and Democracy, popularly known as Qeerroo, is a social movement organized with ideology of Oromo nationalism in Ethiopia. Abdi Mohamoud Omar
Abdi Mohamoud Omar ( so, Cabdi Maxamuud Cumar) or Abdi Ilay ( so, Cabdi Ilay) is an Ethiopian politician who was the president of the Somali Region of Ethiopia from 2010 to 2018. He served as in the Somali regional parliament and was a member of the ruling Ethiopian Somali People Democratic Party (ESPDP), as well as a number five of the Meles Zenawi Foundation. However, he was removed from his positions and arrested a few months after Abiy Ahmed assumed office.
