Fillmore Station
Fillmore station is an at-grade light rail station on the L Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located on Fillmore Street, after which the station is named, between Raymond Avenue and Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena, California. The station opened on July 26, 2003, as part of the original Gold Line, then known as the "Pasadena Metro Blue Line" project. This station and all the other original and Foothill Extension stations will be part of the A Line upon completion of the Regional Connector project in 2023. This station features station art called Geologica 42, created by artist Michael C. McMillen. Platform seating was designed in the form of steamer trunks. The Rose Palace, also known as the Pasadena Rose Palace, was a building located at 835 South Raymond Avenue in the city of Pasadena, California. It was built by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association in 1964. The primary use of The Rose Palace had always been for the construction of floats for the Tournament of Roses Parade, which is held every New Year's Day in the city of Pasadena. The Rose Palace was one of three "float barns" built for float construction in the mid-1900s. Parade float construction primarily takes place from October through the end of December of each year. The Regional Connector Transit Project is a transit project currently constructing a light rail tunnel for the Los Angeles Metro Rail system in Downtown Los Angeles. It is designed to connect the A Line and E Line, which currently end at 7th Street/Metro Center station, to the existing L Line and Union Station.
