Filippo Maria Pandolfi
Filippo Maria Pandolfi (born 1 November 1927 in Bergamo) is a former Italian politician, minister, and European commissioner. Pandolfi graduated in philosophy at the Università Cattolica Milano, taught for some years and then worked for a publisher of scholastic books. He was a member of the Christian Democracy party. He was elected to the Italian parliament in 1968, heading the list in electoral district of Brescia– Bergamo in 1976, 1979, 1983, and 1987. Filippo Pandolfi was finance undersecretary in the Aldo Moro government from 1974 to 1976. In 1976 he became Minister of Finance, in 1978 Minister of the Treasury, then from 1980 to 1983 Minister for Industry and Trade, and finally from 1983 to 1988 Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Lorenzo Natali
Lorenzo Natali Pierucci Bondicchi (1922–1989) was an Italian politician for Christian Democracy, and a European Commissioner from 1977 to 1989. Early life and career Natali's parents were born in Colle di Buggiano, in the province of Pistoia. His mother was a countess, while his father was the son of a farmer, but he graduated in medicine. In 1925 his father won a primary position at the hospital in L'Aquila and the whole family moved to Abruzzo. Natali grew up and lived in L'Aquila. In 1929, Natali's mother died in childbirth. Natali was greatly influenced by his father, a convinced anti-fascist. He obtained his classical high school diploma at the Domenico Cotugno high school in L'Aquila, then moved to Colle di Buggiano to study law in Florence. After graduation he became a lawyer. During the Second World War Natali was responsible for the Catholic youth groups in L'Aquila. Antonio Ruberti (24 January 1927 – 4 September 2000) was an Politics of Italy, Italian politician and engineer. He was a member of the Italian Government and a European Commissioner as well as a professor of engineering at La Sapienza University. A European Commissioner is a member of the 27-member European Commission. Each member within the Commission holds a specific portfolio. The commission is led by the President of the European Commission. In simple terms they are the equivalent of government ministers. Appointment Commissioners are nominated by member states in consultation with the commission president, who then selects a team of commissioners. This team of nominees are then subject to hearings at the European Parliament, which questions them and then votes on their suitability as a whole. If members of the team are found to be inappropriate, the president must then reshuffle the team or request a new candidate from the member state or risk the whole commission being voted down. Calogero Antonio Mannino (born August 20, 1939 in Asmara) is an Italian politician and lawyer. He has been a member of the Christian Democracy and the Union of Christian and Centre Democrats. Renato Altissimo (4 October 1940 – 17 April 2015) was an Italian politician and minister. Biography He was born in Portogruaro, near Venice. Altissimo was a member of the Italian Liberal Party (''Partito Liberale Italiano''; PLI), a small party which served as a junior partner in several governing coalitions. Giovanni Marcora
Giovanni Marcora (22 December 1922 – 5 February 1983) was an Italian businessman, politician and minister. Biography He was born at Inveruno, near Milan. After the Armistice with Italy of 8 September 1943, aged 21, Marcora entered the Italian resistance movement, with the nickname of Albertino, fighting in the province of Milan and the Ossola, and participating in the liberation of Milan on 25 April 1945. He was one of the founders of the Christian Democracy (Italy, historical), Christian Democracy (Democrazia Cristiana).
