Filipe Melo (born 13 September 1977) is a Portuguese musician, film director and comic book writer. Early life As a teenager, Filipe Melo was a computer hacker. At age 15, he was questioned by the police and he was denied access to computers for a few years. Music An accomplished jazz pianist, Melo studied at the Hotclube in Lisbon and at the Berklee College of Music with Joanne Brackeen and Ray Santisi . In Portugal, he did sideman work for many international musicians including Benny Golson, Seamus Blake, Jorge Rossy, John Ellis, Omer Avital, Peter Bernstein, Donald Harrison, Andrea Bocelli, Jesse Davis, Paulinho Braga, Sheila Jordan, Herb Geller and Martin Taylor, among many others. Filipe Joaquim Melo Silva (born 3 November 1989), known as Melo, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for União de Lamas as a defensive midfielder. Club career Portugal Born in Santa Maria de Lamas, Aveiro District, Melo kicked off his career with local C.F. União de Lamas after joining their youth system in 1998. He continued competing in the lower leagues until the age of 21, successively representing A.A. Avanca and S.C. Espinho, both while on loan from S.C. Beira-Mar, who also ceded him to F.C. António Filipe Dias Melo Peixoto (born 5 December 1981) also known as Filipe Melo is a Portuguese businessman and politician of the Chega party and a member of the Assembly of the Republic for the Braga electoral district. Biography Melo was born in 1981. He holds a degree in international relations and worked as a banker at Banco Espírito Santo before becoming a business manager in 2016. He was elected as a municipal councilor in Braga. For the 2022 Portuguese legislative election, he was elected to the Assembly of the Republic for the Braga constituency. He currently sits on the committees for the economy, housing and urban planning.
