Fiji International (badminton)
The Fiji International was a men's golf tournament in Fiji, originally sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia. The event was Fiji's first internationally broadcast golf tournament to a worldwide audience across more than 30 countries in over 400 million homes, a first for a single sporting event in Fiji. The inaugural tournament was held from 14–17 August 2014 at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course. It was a tier one event on the PGA Tour of Australasia and was co-sanctioned with OneAsia. The purse for the event was US$1,000,000. The 2015 event was played in October with a A$1,125,000 purse and was again co-sanctioned by OneAsia. Beginning in 2016, the event was co-sanctioned with the European Tour. Sigatoka
Sigatoka ( ) is a town in Fiji. It is on the island of Viti Levu at the mouth of the Sigatoka River, for which it is named, some 61 kilometres from Nadi. Its population at the 2017 census was 17,622. It is the principal urban centre for the province of Nadroga-Navosa. An ornate temple, open to public and built by Hare Krishna devotees, dominates the Sigatoka skyline. Major tourist attractions include the Sigatoka Sand Dunes near Kulukulu village, two kilometres northwest of Sigatoka; and the Kula Eco Park, with some 500 birds of 100 species from many tropical countries. Matt Kuchar
Matthew Gregory Kuchar (born June 21, 1978) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and formerly the Nationwide Tour. He has won nine times on the PGA Tour. Kuchar briefly enjoyed success in the early 2000s before suffering a slump where he struggled to maintain his playing status on the PGA Tour. He rejuvenated himself and built a new, one-plane swing from 2008 onward leading to improved results. Kuchar was the PGA Tour's leading money winner in 2010. 2015 OneAsia Tour
The OneAsia Tour was a men's professional golf tour based in the Asia-Pacific region. The tour was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between the PGA Tour of Australasia, the China Golf Association, the Korean Golf Association and the Korean PGA. The Japan Golf Tour was invited to participate in the project in 2012 and has co-sanctioned the Indonesia Open, Indonesia PGA Championship and Thailand Open. OneAsia was seen as a rival to the longer established Asian Tour, with which it had poor relations. From 2010 to 2017, the OneAsia Tour had world ranking status in its own right. Having had a ten tournament schedule in each of its first few seasons, OneAsia's fortunes began to decline. Michael Hendry
Michael Hendry (born 15 October 1979) is a professional golfer from New Zealand. Since 2013 he has played primarily on the Japan Golf Tour where he won the 2015 Token Homemate Cup. He won the 2013 New Zealand PGA Championship and the 2017 New Zealand Open. Career Hendry was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He turned professional in 2005. The 2016 European Tour was the eighth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 45th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The Race to Dubai was won for the second time by Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who was also named Golfer of the Year. The Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year was Wang Jeung-hun from South Korea. David McKenzie (born 26 July 1967) is an Australian professional golfer. McKenzie was born in Melbourne, Australia. He turned professional in 1990. McKenzie has played on the PGA Tour of Australasia since 1990.
