Fightville
''Fightville'' is a mixed martial arts documentary film released in 2011. It was co-directed by Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker. The film features interviews with a group of Lafayette, Louisiana fighters and coaches, which includes Dustin Poirier, Tim Credeur, and Albert Stainback. Other fighters featured are Derrick Krantz and Ronny Lis. Poirier and Stainback receive much of the screen time as the filmmakers explore their troubled respective backgrounds and reasons for fighting. Credeur, a fighter and coach, is interviewed about his Gladiator Academy which seeks to "build better men". Gil "The Thrill" Guillory, the promoter of a local promotion named USA MMA, is also featured. It premiered internationally on April 28, 2011, at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. Dustin Poirier (born January 19, 1989) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He is a former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion. As of May 9, 2022, he is #2 in the UFC lightweight rankings and as of October 24, 2022, he is #11 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings. Early life and education Poirier was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is of Acadian French descent, specifically of Cajun heritage. Michael Tucker (director)
Michael Tucker is an American documentary film director, best known for his recent documentary '' The Prisoner or: How I Planned to Kill Tony Blair''. He also directed a documentary in Iraq during the 2003 Iraqi War entitled ''Gunner Palace''. He was born in Hawaii. The Iraqi Experience From May 2003 to June 2004 he traveled to Iraq numerous times during the height of the Iraqi insurgency for the purpose of putting together a documentary. For two months he lived with the 2/3 Artillery, a.k.a. "The Gunners" in one of Uday Hussein's palaces where they were stationed. His film was aimed at capturing the lives and humanity of the soldiers who were situated in the center of Baghdad, one of the most volatile regions of the city. Timothy Wallace Credeur II (born July 9, 1977) is a retired American mixed martial artist. He was a cast member of Spike TV's ''The Ultimate Fighter 7'' and was defeated by fellow cast member Jesse Taylor in the semi-finals. He was then brought back into the competition following the disqualification of Taylor. He fought C.B. Dollaway for a spot in the finals and lost to Dollaway via decision. Mixed martial arts career The Ultimate Fighter 7 Tim is a member of Louisiana's Gladiator Academy and appeared on "The Ultimate Fighter" series.
