Fighter Bomber (video Game)
''Fighter Bomber'' (released as ''Strike Aces'' in the USA) is a combat flight simulator developed by Vektor Grafix and released in 1989 by Activision UK for several platforms. Gameplay In the game, the player participates in the annual ''Strategic Air Command Bombing and Navigation Competition'' at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. Aircrews from around the world come here to compete against each other, undertaking three missions which are monitored and points are awarded. The best aircrew then receives the ''Curtis E. LeMay Trophy''. The player can choose between six different planes. After having selected the aircraft the player has to select a mission, and then appropriate weaponry for the selected mission from an array of weapons consisting of different types of missiles and bombs. Vektor Grafix was a British video game developer, computer game development company led by John Lewis and Andy Craven. Vektor Grafix was founded by Craven and Danny Gallagher in 1986 in video gaming, 1986. Their first release were home ports of the ''Star Wars'' arcade games. The Leeds-based company then went on to become a developer of mostly Video game graphics#3D, 3D simulation games and was eventually bought by MicroProse in July 1992, becoming their development studio. A-10 Tank Killer
''A-10 Tank Killer'' is a 1989 combat flight simulation video game for DOS developed and published by Dynamix. An Amiga version was released in 1990. The game features an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft. Following the success of ''Red Baron'', version 1.5 was released in 1991 which included Gulf War missions and improved graphics and sounds. Several mission packs were sold separately. A sequel published by Sierra, '' Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II'', was released in 1996. Gameplay The gameplay consists of the player piloting an A-10 Thunderbolt II "tank killer" through various combat missions set in the Gulf War air campaign as well as a fictional European scenario. The player receives a mission briefing, has the opportunity to customize a weapon load-out before starting the mission, and is debriefed after the mission.
