Figging
Figging is the practice of inserting a piece of skinned ginger root into the human anus in order to generate an acute burning sensation. Historically this was a method of punishment, but it has since been adopted as a practice of BDSM. the 19th-century word " feaguing." History This method of physical punishment was first used as a form of discipline on female slaves in Ancient Greece.''Torture and Democracy'' by Darius Rejali. p. 213f. The detainee was restrained to varying degrees in order to restrict mobility while the sensation grew from uncomfortable to extreme. Method The ginger, which is skinned and often carved into the shape of a butt plug, causes an intense burning sensation, and often intolerable discomfort to the subject. The effect reaches its maximum within two to five minutes after insertion, and persists for around thirty minutes before gradually easing. The ginger, after use, can be further skinned, and used to extend the experience; each fresh application of ...

Glossary Of BDSM
This glossary of BDSM (an initialism for ''bondage'', ''discipline'', ''domination'', ''submission'', ''sadism'', and ''masochism'') terms defines terms commonly used in the BDSM community. BDSM activities are described as ''play'' in BDSM terminology. Etymology BDSM abbreviations have their origins in classified personal advertisements, where euphemisms for paraphilic and socially-disapproved practices were required by periodical editors to circumvent censorship and obscenity law. The term ''BDSM'' is a portmanteau of initialisms intended to encompass all of the following activities: * Bondage and discipline (B & D or B/D) * Dominance and submission (D & S or D/s) (including "master and slave" role-playing scenarios and ongoing relationship structures) * Sadism and masochism (S & M or S/M) Capitalization conventions Some people in the BDSM community begin dominant terms with an upper case, for example: Top, Master, Dom, Domme, etc., as well as to begin submissive te ...

Anal Eroticism
Anal eroticism, in psychoanalysis, is sensuous pleasure derived from anal sensations. Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, hypothesized that the anal stage of childhood psychosexual development was marked by the predominance of anal eroticism. Sexological The English sex manual ''The Joy of Sex'' talked about the erogenous sensitivity of the anus, and its role in sexual pleasure.Alex Comfort, ''The Joy of Sex'' (1974) Its author, Alex Comfort, stated that anal intercourse was part of many heterosexual as well as homosexual relationships (as indeed had Freud at the start of that century). Comfort also stressed the importance (in the French tradition) of postillionage or anal fingering prior to orgasm. Developmental In 1973, the psychoanalyst D. W. Winnicott spoke of "the tremendous pleasure that belongs to the doing of a motion just exactly when the impulse comes...another little orgy that enriches the life of the infant". Freud, in his 1908 article ''Character and An ...

Gingering
Gingering, or gingering the tail is the practice of making a horse carry its tail high, and to a lesser extent to encourage it to move in a lively fashion, by applying an irritant, such as raw ginger, to its anus or vulva. Historically the process, the purpose of which was often to make an older horse behave like one that was younger, or to temporarily liven up a sick or weakened animal, was known as feaguing (from which the modern term figging derives), and involved a piece of ginger, onion, pepper or tobacco. Francis Grose added in his ''Classical Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue'' (1796) "and formerly, as it is said, a live eel", but that is very unlikely. The modern practice commonly involves a paste product with concentrated gingerol. For the halter horses in the Arabian and American Saddlebred breeds, high tail carriage and animation are desired traits. However, nearly all horse show sanctioning organizations in the U.S. explicitly forbid gingering and have the authority to ...

Rhaphanidosis
Rhaphanidosis is the act of inserting the root of a plant of the genus ''Raphanus'' (commonly known as a radish) into the anus. It is mentioned by Aristophanes as a punishment for adultery in Classical Athens in the fifth and fourth century BC. It is also allegedly a punishment for other sex-related crimes, such as promiscuity and sodomy. Later classical references to the punishment include '' Catullus 15'' where ''percurrent raphanique mugilesque'' (both radishes and mullets will run you through) is threatened against those who cast lascivious eyes on the poet's boyfriend. There is some doubt as to whether the punishment was ever enforced or whether the reference to it in the debate between Right and Wrong in ''The Clouds'' of AristophanesAristophanes, ''The Clouds''

Ginger Finger For Figging
Ginger (''Zingiber officinale'') is a flowering plant whose rhizome, ginger root or ginger, is widely used as a spice and a folk medicine. It is a herbaceous perennial which grows annual pseudostems (false stems made of the rolled bases of leaves) about one meter tall bearing narrow leaf blades. The inflorescences bear flowers having pale yellow petals with purple edges, and arise directly from the rhizome on separate shoots. Ginger is in the family Zingiberaceae, which also includes turmeric (''Curcuma longa''), cardamom (''Elettaria cardamomum''), and galangal. Ginger originated in Maritime Southeast Asia and was likely domesticated first by the Austronesian peoples. It was transported with them throughout the Indo-Pacific during the Austronesian expansion ( BP), reaching as far as Hawaii. Ginger is one of the first spices to have been exported from Asia, arriving in Europe with the spice trade, and was used by ancient Greeks and Romans. The distantly related dicots in the ...

BDSM Terminology
BDSM is a variety of often erotic practices or roleplaying involving bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadomasochism, and other related interpersonal dynamics. Given the wide range of practices, some of which may be engaged in by people who do not consider themselves to be practising BDSM, inclusion in the BDSM community or subculture often is said to depend on self-identification and shared experience. The initialism ''BDSM'' is first recorded in a Usenet post from 1991, and is interpreted as a combination of the abbreviations B/D (Bondage and Discipline), D/s (Dominance and submission), and S/M (Sadism and Masochism). ''BDSM'' is now used as a catch-all phrase covering a wide range of activities, forms of interpersonal relationships, and distinct subcultures. BDSM communities generally welcome anyone with a non-normative streak who identifies with the community; this may include cross-dressers, body modification enthusiasts, animal roleplayers, rubber fetishi ...

Corporal Punishments
Corporal is a military rank in use in some form by many militaries and by some police forces or other uniformed organizations. The word is derived from the medieval Italian phrase ("head of a body"). Soring
Soring, or "big lick", is the use of chemicals to cause pain to the front feet and legs of horses when they touch the ground. This results in the horses picking up their front feet higher and faster than they would do naturally. People who sore their horses believe that it gives them a competitive edge over other horses in the horse show ring. Soring is illegal in the U.S. under the Horse Protection Act of 1970. Tennessee walking horses are not allowed to be shown without passing an UDSA and HPA inspection for soring. Tennessee walking horses are not allowed to have scars on their pastern as it is considered associated with soring. Caning
Caning is a form of corporal punishment consisting of a number of hits (known as "strokes" or "cuts") with a single Stick-fighting, cane usually made of rattan, generally applied to the offender's bare or clothed buttocks (see spanking) or hands (on the palm). Caning on the knuckles or shoulders is much less common. Caning can also be applied to the soles of the feet (foot whipping or Foot whipping, bastinado). The size and flexibility of the cane and the mode of application, as well as the number of the strokes, vary greatly—from a couple of light strokes with a small cane across the seat of a junior schoolboy's trousers, to up to 24 very hard, wounding cuts on the bare buttocks with a large, heavy, soaked rattan as a judicial punishment in some Southeast Asian countries. Flagellation was so common in England as punishment that caning, along with spanking and Flagellation, whipping, are called "the English vice". Caning can also be done consensually as a part of BDSM.
