Fifteen (band)
Fifteen was a punk rock band formed by Jeff Ott and Jack Curran. According to Ott, the band's only consistent member in its 11-year history, Fifteen had a revolving door total of fifteen members by the time the group disbanded in 2000: Jack Curran, Mikey Mischief, Mark Moreno, Jean Repetto, Lucky Dog, Chris Flanagan, John Ogle, Jesse Wickman, Joe Cable, John Quintos, Scott Pierce, Jim Prior, Lisa D., Vanessa Bain and Ott himself. History Fifteen formed in 1988 during the tail end of the Crimpshrine tour while Ott and Curran were writing songs together. After Crimpshrine broke up, Fifteen embarked on their first tour, in the summer of 1989. During this time, Jean Repetto played drums. Although the band drove across the country, they only played a handful of shows on this first tour. Upon returning from tour, Mike Goshert took over drums. Sub City Records is a record label which was created by Louis Posen and Hopeless Records to raise funding and awareness for non-profit organizations. Sub City has been active since 1999, and has now over 30 releases. The label has donated over $2 million to more than 50 nonprofit organizations. ''Lucky'' is a 1999 album by the punk band Fifteen, named after local musician (and former bassist for the band) Rich "Lucky Dog" Gargano, who had recently committed suicide. The album was filled with political songs, most notably ones like "Stolen Life", where singer/songwriter Jeff Ott Jeff Ott (born June 24, 1970) is an activist, musician, author, and longtime member of the Berkeley, California, Berkeley Punk rock, punk community, best known for playing guitar and singing in the bands Crimpshrine and Fifteen (band), Fifteen. Plan-It-X Records (PIX) was an independent record label. Originally based in Georgetown, Indiana, PIX was based out of Bloomington, Indiana following brief stints in Olympia, Washington, Gainesville, Florida, and Cairo, Illinois. The label released folk punk and pop punk music, including Against Me!'s ''Crime As Forgiven By'', other releases include albums by This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb, Defiance, Ohio, Ghost Mice, Japanther, The Bananas, Operation: Cliff Clavin, and Antsy Pants and Fifteen. History Founded in 1994 by Samantha Jane Dorsett, Plan-It-X held a DIY punk ethic. The label sold all CDs for five dollars or less. PIX's slogan reads: "If it ain't cheap, it ain't punk". PIX attempted to demonstrate that the practices of major record labels do not need to be duplicated by independent record labels in order to be successful. ''Buzz'' is the third studio album by California punk band Fifteen. The album was released on CD, LP, and cassette by the now-defunct label Grass Records, in 1994. It was re-released on CD by Grass Records on August 27, 1996, then re-released again on CD by Plan-It-X Records on November 14, 2006. Iteration is the repetition of a process in order to generate a (possibly unbounded) sequence of outcomes. Each repetition of the process is a single iteration, and the outcome of each iteration is then the starting point of the next iteration. ''Swain's First Bike Ride'' is the debut studio album by the Berkeley, California-based punk rock band Fifteen. It was originally released on vinyl in 1991 through Lookout Records with the catalog number LK 040. The songs can generally be described as mid-tempo punk rock with pop sensibilities. The album also has quite a few love songs (including "''C#(tion)''", which was covered by Green Day, and "''Sweet Valentine''"), which was something that was phased out on later albums. The record closes with Fifteen's only piano ballad, "''The End''", which is often considered to be one of the band's best songs. The album's CD edition, released on February 10, 1992, contains the band's self-titled EP from the previous year as bonus tracks.
