Maurice Fiennes
Sir Maurice Alberic Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes (1 March 1907 – 14 September 1994) was an English industrialist. Fiennes was the son of Alberic Arthur Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, and his wife, Gertrude Theodosia Pomeroy (née Colley), and great-grandson of Frederick Benjamin Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, 16th Baron Saye and Sele. He was educated at the independent Repton School in the village of Repton in Derbyshire and at Armstrong College in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He was the managing director of Davy & United Engineering and chairman of Davy-Ashmore in Sheffield, and achieved success as a producer of high quality British steel. He was made a knight in the 1965 New Year Honours in recognition of his contributions to British engineering. He married Sylvia Joan Finlay, with whom he had five children including photographer Mark Fiennes. William John Fiennes FRSL (born 7 August 1970) is an English author best known for his memoirs ''The Snow Geese'' (2002) and ''The Music Room'' (2009). Early life and education Fiennes was born into the aristocratic Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes family and raised in 14th-century Broughton Castle in Oxfordshire, the youngest of five children of Nathaniel Fiennes, 21st Baron Saye and Sele (born 1920) and Mariette ''née'' Salisbury-Jones. His elder sister is the artist Susannah Fiennes and his maternal grandfather was soldier and courtier Guy Salisbury-Jones. Susannah Hersey Fiennes (born 27 February 1961) is a British artist who has worked extensively with Charles III and is collected in Europe, Asia and America. Biography Fiennes is the daughter of Lord and Lady Saye and Sele, who are the owners of Broughton Castle. Her twin brother is the heir to their father's barony.
