Field Hockey At The 2006 Asian Games
The field hockey tournament at the 2006 Asian Games was held from 2 to 14 December 2006 in Al-Rayyan Hockey Field. In this event, 10 teams participated in men's events and 7 teams participated in women's events. Medalists Medal table Qualification Top 6 Asian teams, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Japan, China and Malaysia could enter the men's competition directly. For the next four spots a qualification tournament was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 11 to 20 May 2006. Women's qualification tournament was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 5 to 9 June 2006. Al-Rayyan Hockey Field
Al Rayyan (; also spelled as ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipality in the state of Qatar. Its primary settlement is the city of the same name, which occupies the entire eastern section and largely surrounds Metropolitan Doha and functions as a suburb. The vast expanse of mostly undeveloped lands in the south-west also falls under the municipality's administration. Etymology Similar to many other names given to Qatari settlements and municipalities, Al Rayyan Municipality was named after a geographic feature present in its namesake, the city of Al Rayyan. Ye Peng (field Hockey)
Ye Peng (, sometimes also transliterated Ye Feng, 1897–1947) was a Chinese lieutenant general who fought for the Republic of China and later became a key figure in the Nanjing Nationalist Government of Wang Jingwei. Biography Ye Peng entered the Baoding Military Academy in 1917 and graduated in 1919 from its artillery department. He rose through the ranks of the National Revolutionary Army during the 1930s, holding various military posts. In 1939 he joined Wang Jingwei and his pro-peace faction, being appointed to the Kuomintang central committee under his Reorganized National Government of China. Ye became the head of a training center in Shanghai and was a member of the Central Military Commission. In 1941 he was appointed to command the 29th Army.
