Fidelity (Anglican)
Fidelity was a conservative organization within the Anglican Church of Canada committed to retaining traditional understanding of human sexuality within that church. It was opposed to, but in dialogue with, Integrity Canada. The Anglican Church of Canada (ACC or ACoC) is the Ecclesiastical province#Anglican Communion, province of the Anglican Communion in Canada. The official French-language name is ''l'Église anglicane du Canada''. In 2017, the Anglican Church counted 359,030 members on parish rolls in 2,206 congregations, organized into 1,571 parishes. The Canada 2011 Census, 2011 Canadian Census counted 1,631,845 self-identified Anglicans (5 percent of the total Canadian population), making the Anglican Church the third-largest Canadian church after the Catholic Church and the United Church of Canada.2011 is the most recent census to collect information on religion in Canada. Integrity USA was a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Episcopal Church in the United States. It was founded in 1974 to promote the inclusion of Q members and their Straight allies, allies for equal access to Episcopal liturgy, rites, but dissolved in April 2022 following misconduct allegations concerning the conduct of its board of directors. History Founding Integrity was founded in 1974 by Louie Crew in rural Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, US. Crew, who was on a teaching fellowship in San Francisco, California, telephoned the reportedly progressive Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, Grace Episcopal Cathedral, asking if they could help him and his Significant other, partner meet other gay Episcopal Church (United States), Episcopalians. The derisive laughter he heard in response prompted him to start a newsletter to help LGBTQ members of the Episcopal Church support each other in a hostile ecclesiastical environment. Anglican Essentials Canada
Anglican Essentials Canada is a Christian group of Anglicans who share a common commitment to "faithful biblical orthodoxy," often broadly meaning an opposition to progressive norms embraced in the late 20th and early 21st century (especially the issue of marriage equality and acceptance of LGBT people), but also reflecting a general trend toward conservatism and orthodoxy in thought and practice. History Conservative Anglicans formed the group in 1994 to represent their interests within the Anglican Church of Canada. Montreal Declaration It was previously named "the Essentials movement"' and then, in 2005, launched as the Essentials Federation and the Anglican Network in Canada before 750 delegates, most of them Canadian Anglicans, during a gathering dubbed the "Open Door Conference".
