Fiat 343
The Fiat 343 was an Italian bus produced by Fiat Veicoli Industriali (FIAT's bus division before the creation of the IVECO consortium) starting from 1966. It was very similar to the previous Fiat 306, although it included numerous innovations. It was produced in two versions, one 11 meters and one (named 343L) 13 meter long. The engine was of two types, the FIAT 8200.12 (9,819 cc with 194 hp) and 8200.13 (10,308 cc with 208 hp, mounted on the 343L). The production (also destined to foreign countries) ended in 1978, together with that of Fiat 308. They were replaced by the Iveco 370, produced since 1977. Fiat Società per Azioni, S.p.A., or ''Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino'' (Italian Automobile Factory of Turin), was an Italian holding company whose original and Core business, core activities were in the automotive industry, and that was succeeded by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA). IVECO, an acronym for Industrial Vehicles Corporation, is an Italian multinational transport vehicle manufacturing company. It designs and builds light, medium, and heavy commercial vehicles. The Fiat 306 was an Italian bus produced by Fiat Veicoli Industriali ( FIAT's bus division before the creation of the IVECO consortium) from 1956. It was manufactured in 3 series: 306/2 was launched in 1960, while 306/3 was from 1962, with different car body. The Fiat 306 was delivered as a chassis, to which was later added a car body by different companies, including CANSA, Carrozzeria Orlandi, Carrozzeria Menarini, Carrozzeria Barbi, the Belgian Van Hool, and others. The Fiat 306, whose production ended in 1982, was massively used in Italy by numerous local transport administration. It was replaced by the IVECO 370, launched in 1977. Iveco 370
The Iveco 370 was an Italian coach produced by Fiat Veicoli Industriali starting from 1976, and, from 1980, by the IVECO consortium. Produced in different lengths, it replaced the previous models Fiat 306, Fiat 308 and Fiat 309. It was built in two versions, suburban and ''Gran Turismo'', in the length of 12 and 10.5 meters respectively, as well as a 9 m few units. The German-built Magirus M2000 was based on the Iveco 370. There were eight possible engine configurations, varying from 9,572 cc, with 240 hp output, to 17,173 cc, with an output of 350 hp. It was replaced by Iveco EuroClass since 1993, although the coach chassis was produced until 1999 for other coachbuilders.
