Festspielhaus St. Pölten
The Festspielhaus St. Pölten () is a Festspielhaus in St. Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria. It is located next to the Landesmuseum (museum of the country of Lower Austria), the Ausstellungshalle (exhibition hall), the Landesbibliothek (public library of the country of Lower Austria), the Landesarchiv (archive of the country of Lower Austria) and the Klangturm in the cultural district of St. Pölten. The Festspielhaus was opened on March 1, 1997. Already one year later the house was regularly used for music theatre and dance. Since September 2009 the German dancer, choreographer and director Joachim Schloemer is the artistic director of Festspielhaus St. Pölten. In September 2013 Brigitte Fürle, former artistic director of the spielzeit’europa, Theatre- and dance season of the Berliner Festspiele, will be his successor. Edson Cordeiro
Edson Cordeiro (born February 9, 1967) is a Brazilian sopranist countertenor and pop and jazz singer. Life and career Cordeiro was born in Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil. He began singing at 6 years old when he joined a church choir called "Cordeirinhos do Senhor". He became famous as a street singer. He had his first TV performance with his own version of the aria of the " Queen of the Night" ( W. A. Mozart). In 1996, he won the Prêmio Sharp for the best Brazilian pop singer. Cordeiro first toured Europe in 1995. He was greatly acclaimed after his concerts, especially in Germany, where he also performed on national TV. His repertoire ranges from opera and lieder to traditional Brazilian folksongs to 1970s disco music. It includes covers of Nina Hagen, Janis Joplin, Grace Jones, Prince and Édith Piaf, along with medieval psalms. Cullberg Ballet
Cullberg Ballet ( sv, Cullbergbaletten) is a Swedish contemporary dance company. It was founded by the modern dancer and pioneer choreographer Birgit Cullberg in 1967, who brought it to fame. After Cullberg's retirement in 1985 the company was until 1993 run by her son, the popular Swedish dancer, choreographer and stage director Mats Ek. Akram Hossain Khan, MBE ( bn, আকরাম হুসেইন খান) (born 29 July 1974) is an English dancer and choreographer of Bangladeshi descent. His background is rooted in his classical kathak training and contemporary dance. Career Khan was born in Lambeth, London, England, into a family from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He began dancing and trained in the classical South Asian dance form of Kathak at the age of seven. He studied with Pratap Pawar, later becoming his disciple. William Forsythe (dancer)
William Forsythe (born December 30, 1949) is an American dancer and choreographer resident in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He is known for his work with the Ballet Frankfurt (1984–2004) and The Forsythe Company (2005–2015). Michael Duncan Clark CBE (born 29 May 1962) is a Scottish dancer and choreographer. Early life Clark was born in Aberdeen and began traditional Scottish dancing at the age of four. In 1975 he left home to study at the Royal Ballet School in London, and on his final day at the school he was presented with the Ursula Moreton Choreographic Award. Aszure Barton is a Canadian-born choreographer. Career Aszure Barton was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. Russell Maliphant
Russell Maliphant (born 1961 in Canada) is a British choreographer. He grew up in Cheltenham and trained at the Royal Ballet School and graduated into Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet before leaving to pursue a career in independent dance. As a performer Maliphant worked with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Michael Clark Company, Laurie Booth Company and Rosemary Butcher. The Iron Curtain was the political boundary dividing Europe into two separate areas from the end of World War II in 1945 until the end of the Cold War in 1991.
