Moving Units is an American dance-punk band from Los Angeles, California. History The band was formed in 2001 by Blake Miller (formerly of Spectacle) Johan Boegli and Chris Hathwell after Miller invited Boegli and Hathwell to jam songs from an early demo he self-produced. They released their debut EP, ''Moving Units'', on Three One G in early 2002. Their touring experience includes opening slots for Hot Hot Heat, Pixies, Blur and Nine Inch Nails. Their debut full-length album, ''Dangerous Dreams'', was released on October 12, 2004, by Palm Pictures. Moving Units released their second studio album, ''Hexes for Exes'' in 2007 on Metropolis Records. The first single, "Pink Thoughts", was released through the band's MySpace page. So Sweet released a one-off limited edition 7 inch vinyl single "Crash N Burn Victims" in the UK coupled with a remix of the same track by Felix Cartal in November 2007. Hot Hot Heat is a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, formed in 1999. The band was signed by Seattle label Sub Pop in 2001 and released its first EP, ''Knock Knock Knock'', and first full-length album, ''Make Up the Breakdown'', the following year. The band released five full-length albums, the last being the self-titled ''Hot Hot Heat'' in 2016. The band's style makes use of electronic and traditional instruments and has variously been categorized as dance-punk, post-punk revival, new wave, and art-punk. They made an appearance on ''Yo Gabba Gabba!'', with the song, "Time to Go Outdoors". It was featured on the "Talent" episode. The Smell
The Smell is an all-ages, alcohol and drug-free, punk rock and experimental music venue in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The Smell, notable for its DIY ethic, is home to many of the area's avant-garde performers and artists. The venue is maintained by Jim Smith, one of the four original organizers of the club, and a number of volunteers. The Smell continues in the tradition of Los-Angeles-based underground clubs such as The Masque and Jabberjaw. Taelor Deitcher (born April 9, 1987), better known by his stage name Felix Cartal, is a Canadian DJ and electronic dance music producer. He released his first EP ''Skeleton'' in 2009 once he signed with Dim Mak Records. Since then he has gone on to release four full-length albums, 2010's ''Popular Music,'' 2012's ''Different Faces'', 2018's ''Next Season,'' and 2021's ''Expensive Sounds for Nice People.'' Deitcher has toured with Wolfgang Gartner, MSTRKRFT, and Bloody Beetroots. Deitcher set the trend of collaborating with unpredictable vocalists in the dance scene such as Sebastien Grainger of Death from Above 1979, Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds and Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers. ''Dangerous Dreams'' is the debut studio album by American dance-punk band Moving Units. It was released on October 12, 2004, by Palm Records. It was their second release, after their 2002 '' Moving Units EP''. The track "Between Us & Them" was used in Leo Romero's opening part in Foundation's skateboarding video ''That's Life''. The track "Going for Adds" was used in a 2007 commercial for Secret Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. Critical reception ''Dangerous Dreams'' was met with "mixed or average" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 53 based on 12 reviews. Nine Inch Nails, commonly abbreviated as NIN and stylized as NIИ, is an American industrial rock band formed in Cleveland in 1988.
