Festival OTI De La Canción
OTI Festival ( es, Festival OTI de la Canción, pt, Festival OTI da Canção), often known simply as La OTI, was an international song competition, organised annually between 1972 and 2000 by the Organización de Telecomunicaciones de Iberoamérica, Organización de Televisión Iberoamericana (OTI) (English: Iberoamerican Television Organisation), featuring participants representing primarily Ibero-American countries. Each participating OTI member broadcaster submitted an original song in Spanish or Portuguese to be performed on live television and transmitted to all OTI broadcasters via satellite. It was preceded by the Festival Mundial de la Canción Latina, held in 1969 and 1970 in Mexico. The festival was an Ibero-American Spin-off (media), spin-off of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision Song Contest (), sometimes abbreviated to ESC and often known simply as Eurovision, is an international songwriting competition organised annually by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), featuring participants representing primarily European countries. Venezuela In The OTI Festival
Venezuela with their three OTI member stations: RCTV, Venevisión and Venezolana de Televisión debuted in the OTI Song Contest in 1972 in Madrid when the festival was held for the first time. History This country won the festival on two occasions, the first one in 1982 with the teenage boy band Unicornio performing the song "Puedes contar conmigo" (You can count on me). The second Venezuelan victory came in 1987 in Lisbon with Alfredo Alejandro, who performed the song "La felicidad esá en un rincón de tu corazón" (The happiness is inside a corner of your heart). Apart from their victories, the South American country got two second places in 1976 and 1979 and three third places in 1974, 1975 and 1994.
