M/F ''Sherbatskiy'' was a RORO Passenger and Freight ferry operating services between Almeria and Nador on a time-charter basis to the Spanish ferry operator Acciona Trasmediterranea. The ship was formerly called the M/F ''Oleander'' (2001-2013), ''P&OSL Picardy'' (1999-2001), ''Pride of Bruges'' (1987-1999) and ''Pride of Free Enterprise'' (1980-1987). She was operated by FerriMaroc and Comarit between 2010 and 2011 and previously owned and operated by TransEuropa Ferries between Ramsgate and Ostend. TransEuropa Ferries owned the ferry between 2001 and 2013 and operated her between 2001 and 2010 before placing her on charter. She was scrapped at Alang in late 2015 under the name ''Sher''. MV ''Duc de Normandie'' was a passenger car ferry built in 1978 as the ''Prinses Beatrix''. She subsequently operated under the names ''Wisteria'' and ''Voronskiy''. She was beached in February 2021 and subsequently dismantled. History She was built in 1978 as the ''Prinses Beatrix'' by Verolme Shipyard, in Heusden, the Netherlands and worked for Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland on its joint Sealink route between Hook of Holland and Harwich, Parkeston Quay. She was named and launched by Princess Beatrix on 14 January 1978. Brittany Ferries bought the vessel on 1 October 1985 and, after chartering the vessel for a year back to SMZ, renamed her ''Duc de Normandie'', operating between Portsmouth and Ouistreham from 5 June 1986. The ferry sailed alongside on its favoured route to Ouistreham. On 10 July 2002, she was transferred to the Plymouth-Roscoff route, replacing the . MS ''Normandy'' was a ferry, last owned by the Singapore-based oil service company Equinox Offshore Accommodation, under charter to the Morocco-based ferry operator Ferrimaroc. She was built in 1981 by Götaverken, Gothenburg, Sweden, and first entered service in 1982 as MS ''Prinsessan Birgitta'' for Stena Sessan Line. She also served under the names MS ''St Nicholas'' and MS ''Stena Normandy''. Concept and construction The ship latterly known as MS ''Normandy'' was originally ordered from Götaverken in the late 1970s by Sessan Linjen, Sweden, with a planned delivery date in late 1981. Before the ship was completed, Sessan Linjen's main rival Stena Line purchased the majority of shares in Sessan, leading to the formation of Stena Sessan Line.
