The Ferrari SF21 was a Formula One racing car designed and constructed by Scuderia Ferrari to compete in the 2021 Formula One World Championship. The car was driven by Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc. The car made its competitive debut at the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix. Background The SF21 was designed as an evolution of its predecessor the SF1000. In an internal combustion engine, a turbocharger (often called a turbo) is a forced induction device that is powered by the flow of exhaust gases. It uses this energy to compress the intake gas, forcing more air into the engine in order to produce more power for a given displacement.
The current categorisation is that a turbocharger is powered by the kinetic energy of the exhaust gasses, whereas a supercharger is mechanically powered (usually by a belt from the engine's crankshaft). Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc (; born 16 October 1997) is a Monégasque racing driver, currently racing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. He won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in .
