Ferodale, New South Wales
Ferodale is a sparsely populated rural suburb of the Port Stephens Council, Port Stephens Local government in Australia, local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. A large portion of the suburb is occupied by Grahamstown Dam, the lower Hunter Region's main water storage reservoir. Geography Ferodale is immediately to the east of the Pacific Highway (Australia), Pacific Highway and to the north of Richardson Road, the main road between Raymond Terrace and Port Stephens (New South Wales), Port Stephens. It is bisected by Medowie Road, which connects the Pacific Highway to . The entire southwestern corner of the suburb, approximately or 48% of the total area, is occupied by Grahamstown Dam, Grahamstown Lake and its immediate surrounds. Grahamstown Dam
Grahamstown Dam is a major off-stream earthfill Embankment dam with a controlled labyrinth spillway and baffle chute that stores water from the Williams River. The dam is located north of Newcastle and within the Port Stephens Council local government area in the Lower Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The dam's main purpose is water supply; it provides about 40 per cent of the potable water for the Hunter region; and is the Hunter's largest drinking water supply dam. The impounded reservoir is called Grahamstown Lake or the Grahamstown Storage Reservoir. Division Of Paterson
The Division of Paterson is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. It is located just north of Newcastle, on the coast of the Tasman Sea. The division is named after federation-era poet and author Banjo Paterson and was originally created in 1949 and abolished in 1984. It was recreated after a redistribution in 1992. The division is centred on the lower Hunter Valley and the outer suburbs of Greater Newcastle. Pacific Highway is a national highway and major transport route along the central east coast of Australia, with the majority of it being part of Australia's Highway 1. Raymond Terrace
Raymond Terrace is a town in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, about by road north of Newcastle on the Pacific Highway. Established in 1837 it is situated at the confluence of the Hunter and Williams rivers. The town was named after Lieutenant Raymond, who had explored the Hunter River in 1797 and described the terraced appearance of trees in the area. Governor Lachlan Macquarie camped in the area in 1818, using "Raymond Terrace" as the name for the place where his party had camped. At the Raymond Terrace had a population of 13,453. It is the administrative centre of the Port Stephens local government area as well as a service hub for surrounding rural areas.
