Fernando De Acuña Y De Herrera
Fernando de Acuña y de Herrera (died 1495) was Viceroy of Sicily for 1489–1495. Family Ferndando was one of six siblings, a son of an originally Portuguese family, whose grandfather, Lope Vázquez de Acuña I had settled in Spain for political trouble reasons. His father was Pedro de Acuña y Carrillo de Albornoz, Sieur of Buendía and Azañól since 1397, the Sieur of Dueñas since 9 December 1439, promoted to Count of Buendía in 1475. Fernando de Acuña y de Herrera Spanish grandmother Teresa, came from a significant Burgos family, named "Carrillo" and a still more powerful family from Cuenca named "de Albornoz". Jorge Manrique
Jorge Manrique (c. 1440 – 24 April 1479) was a major Castilian poet, whose main work, the ''Coplas por la muerte de su padre (Verses on the death of Don Rodrigo Manrique, his Father)'', is still read today. He was a supporter of the queen Isabel I of Castile, and actively participated on her side in the civil war that broke out against her half-brother, Enrique IV, when the latter attempted to make his daughter, Juana, crown princess. Jorge died in 1479 during an attempt to take the castle of Garcimuñoz, defended by the Marquis of Villena (a staunch enemy of Isabel), after Isabel gained the crown. Manrique was a great-nephew of Iñigo López de Mendoza (marquis of Santillana), a descendant of Pero López de Ayala, chancellor of Castile, and a nephew of Gómez Manrique, ''corregidor'' of Toledo, all important poets of the late fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Military Order Of Santiago
The Order of Santiago (; es, Orden de Santiago ), is a religious and military order founded in the 12th century. It owes its name to the Patron Saint of Spain, "Santiago" (St. James the Greater). Its initial objective was to protect the pilgrims on the Way of St. James, to defend Christendom and to remove the Muslim Moors from the Iberian Peninsula.
