All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county club hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year since the 1970-71 championship (except for 2020-2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The final, currently held on the third Sunday in January, is the culmination of a series of games played between October and February with the winners receiving the Tommy Moore Cup. Kilkenny Junior Hurling Championship
The J. J. Kavanagh & Sons Premier Junior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1905 for the third-tier hurling teams in the county of Kilkenny in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Nowlan Park in October. The prize for the winning team is the Bob Aylward Cup. Pat Henderson
Pat Henderson (born 30 January 1943) is an Irish retired hurling manager and former player. Born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Henderson first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Thurles CBS. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later joining the under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 1964 championship. Henderson went on to play a key role over the next fifteen years, and one five All-Ireland medals, eight Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on five occasions. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Henderson won six Railway Cup medals. Pat Delaney (Kilkenny Hurler)
Patrick "Pat" Delaney (1942 – 19 August 2013) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Delaney first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-six when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team, making his debut in the 1968 championship. Delaney went on to play a key part for Kilkenny in what has come to be known as one of the greatest teams of all-time, and won four All-Ireland medals, six Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. An All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions, Delaney also captained the team to All-Ireland defeat in 1973. Nicky Orr
Nicholas "Nicky" Orr (born 23 February 1947) is an Irish retired hurler whose league and championship career with the Kilkenny senior team spanned nine seasons from 1969 to 1976. Born near Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Orr first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Johnstown national school. He began his club hurling career with the St. Finbarr's team, before later joining the Fenians club when it was formed in 1968. Orr won a county junior championship medal that year, which guaranteed promotion to the senior ranks the following year. An All-Ireland runner-up in 1975, he also won one Leinster medal and five county senior championship medals. Orr made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he was selected for the Kilkenny intermediate team. Ger Henderson
Ger Henderson (born 5 May 1954) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with the Kilkenny senior inter-county team in the 1970s and 1980s. Early life Ger Henderson was born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny in 1954. He was educated locally at Johnstown national school where his interest in hurling first began. Later, Henderson and his two brothers, Pat and John, would form the backbone of the Kilkenny team of the 1970s and early 1980s. Playing career Club Henderson played his club hurling with the local Fenians club in Johnstown. He was too young to play senior hurling when the club triumphed winning county championship titles in the early 1970s, however, he did win county title and a Leinster club title in 1974.
