Carioca Arena 3
Carioca Arena 3 (Portuguese: ''Arena Carioca 3'') is an indoor stadium in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The venue hosted taekwondo at the 2016 Summer Olympics, taekwondo and fencing at the 2016 Summer Olympics, fencing competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the judo at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, judo and Wheelchair fencing at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, wheelchair fencing competitions at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Carioca Arena 3 was planned to be transformed into a sports high school after the Games. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, the structure of Carioca Arena 3 was used as a base for the health workers on vaccination programme. Bogna Jóźwiak (born April 15, 1983 in Poznań) is a Polish sabre fencer. Jozwiak represented Poland at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed in two sabre events. Yoon Ji-su ( ko, 윤지수, or ; born 24 January 1993) is a South Korean right-handed sabre fencer. Yoon is a four-time team Asian champion and a two-time individual Asian champion. A two-time Olympian, Yoon is a 2021 team Olympic bronze medalist. Early life Yoon is the younger of two children and only daughter of retired baseball player and coach Yoon Hak-kil. She was born and raised in Busan as her father was a "one-team man" who spent his entire playing career and part of his coaching career with Lotte Giants. Her father had been initially opposed to her becoming a professional athlete but relented after much persuasion. Kim Ji-yeon (Hangul: 김지연; or ; born 12 March 1988) is a South Korean left-handed sabre fencer. Kim is a five-time team Asian champion and four-time individual Asian champion. A three-time Olympian, Kim is a 2021 team Olympic bronze medalist and 2012 individual Olympic champion. Rossella Gregorio (born 30 August 1990) is an Italian sabre fencer, bronze medallist in the 2014 European Fencing Championships. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in sabre. Career Gregorio discovered fencing thanks to family friends who encouraged her parents to let her try the sport. She first trained at CS Salerno, where she was coached by Antonio Serra, before joining Frascati Scherma. Gregorio won the 2009 Junior European Championship in Odense. A year later she became Junior Italian champion. She joined the national team for the 2013 European Championships in Zagreb. She was eliminated in the first round by Germany's Alexandra Bujdoso. Ilaria Bianco (born 29 May 1980 in Pisa) is an Italian sabre fencer. Between 1999 and 2005, Bianco had won a total of five medals (one gold, three silver, and one bronze), as a member of the Italian team, at the World Fencing Championships.
