The 2010 Summer Youth Olympics ( ta, 2010 கோடைக்கால இளையோர் ஒலிம்பிக் விளையாட்டுக்கள் ms, Sukan Olimpik Belia Musim Panas 2010), officially known as the I Summer Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Singapore 2010, was the inaugural edition of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), an Olympic Games-based event for young athletes. Held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010, it was the first International Olympic Committee–sanctioned event held in Southeast Asia. The Games featured about 3,600 athletes aged 14–18 from 204 nations, who competed in 201 events in 26 sports. Katharine (Kat) Holmes (born July 15, 1993) is an American fencer. She competed in the women's épée event at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She was a world champion in the women’s epee team event (Wuxi, China 2018), which was the first World Championship medal won by an American women’s epee team, defeating Korea in overtime in the finals. She also anchored the United States women’s epee team to its first World Cup gold medal (Dubai 2018), defeating Russia in overtime in the finals. She was the back-to-back gold medalist in both the individual and team events at the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 and Toronto in 2015. Lin Sheng (; born 5 January 1994) is a Chinese fencer. Lin is from Fuzhou, Fujian. She won a gold medal in the girls' épée event at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. She was part of the Chinese girls' team which won gold in the team épée event at the 2011 Junior World Fencing Championships. At the 2015 International Fencing Federation Épée Grand Prix in Rio de Janeiro, she placed 40th. Alberta Santuccio (born 22 October 1994) is an Italian right-handed épée fencer and 2021 team Olympic bronze medalist. Early life Santuccio was born on 22 October 1994, in Catania, Italy. She began fencing at the age of seven after witnessing her brother Giorgio play the sport. Career While competing with the CS Acireale, Santuccio won a gold medal in the individual event at the European Cadet Championship and in the international under 17 circuits. As such, she was chosen to be the flag bearer in 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. During the games, Santuccio won gold in the mixed team tournament and then silver in the girls' individual Épée.
